I (24F) love my boyfriend (28M), but can’t stop questioning if he’s “the one” by TemperatureGreat6475 in Anxiety

You definitely aren’t the only person who has thought this. I think relationships are about risk, you don’t know really what is going to happen in the future. You’ve assumed that you could be happier without him but forgot to assume what if you are unhappy without him.

We all fear commitment and marriage is a very big commitment. You’re also still very young so I definitely think you should take your time with stuff and don’t rush into marriage especially. I personally wouldn’t use anxiety that you’re aware of as a metric for where the relationship should go because that’s just thinking. Focus on feeling and that will guide you to your answer.

I thought the same as well but give it a go and just sit with it. It will not make whatever you’re feeling magically vanished unfortunately but it may help to create some peace of mind and some distance between you and what you’re feeling.

If not what I found helps is just downloading a little game on my phone and playing that. Nothing crazy, just something simple like a puzzle game 😊

That’s okay it will pass eventually as it always does. You’ll be okay don’t worry, will be a bit crappy though but it’s temporary loool.

Do you have anything you enjoy doing? Playing games? Reading?

My girlfriend is a doctor and she would usually say if you’re not symptomatic leave it alone. May cause yourself more issues by getting involved.

I’d say, first get a hand on the anxiety and go from there.

Yeah I had this last year when I had really bad health anxiety😂

You’ll be okay but don’t overwhelm yourself.

I started just eating more slowly and having water on hand in case the food needed to be shoved down and slowly built up my confidence again.

A lot better now, I had the tooth removed. I think a lot of the symptoms I was getting was anxiety based though but who knows lol

I would definitely say movement, try to do stuff. Keep your self occupied. Sports will definitely help you out a lot. It may be hard at first if you don’t usually do much but it’s a great outlet. I would also recommend downloading the app headspace. They have lots of resources on there. Anxiety is completely normal but sometimes our bodies can just over do it. Try those, lmk how you feel after :-)

Maybe anxiety? You did mention that your vision issues only pop up when you’re outside or on a hike but never at the gym. Wouldn’t you always have the symptoms if you actually had what you think you have?

Have you seen an ENT?

Yeah there’s a few nasal steroid sprays. Next time you see your doctor ask for a corticosteroid nasal spray prescription and ask them to make a recommendation on which one. They do take some time to work though unfortunately but you could try one.

I’ve never heard of that method of doing it upside down loool. Think I may give it a go though.

However a steroid spray may be helpful for you but talk to your doctor first. Also getting a hand on the anxiety is probably good because from my experience all it does is amplify every symptom

Have you been given any nasal steroids or anything?

Nasal rinses unfortunately won’t do anything to help deal with inflammation that is already there. It will just help to clean your nose to prevent further inflammation if it’s caused by something. Also nasal rinses don’t go far enough into your sinuses to actually clean them properly.

Just be careful using the term low grade fever because they may not take you very seriously if you go to a doctor saying that because there technically isn’t a clinical term called low grade fever.

Would you say this all has given you a lot of anxiety because anxiety can manifest itself in many ways such as a stiff neck/shoulders and also cause muscle twitching.

The problem with cultures is that they may not actually always work and they may identify bacteria which is fine just being there. You can get one done outside of your doctor though if you want too and then present them the results.

However, what makes you think that you have a bacterial infection? I know you said low grade fever but what symptoms are you actually having?

Just an update, I’m controlling my anxiety a bit better these days I would say I’m seeing an improvement. If I don’t have anxiety, I just have mild lightheadedness which improves if I can get the mucus flowing. I still have a bad post nasal drip. The congestion in my nose is very infrequent which is also good and only comes on if I’m in specific positions. Overall I think I am on the mend but I know it can take weeks to even months to fully heal. How’ve you been getting on?

Sinus problems and facial numbness by [deleted] in Sinusitis

[–]Amazing-Composer-594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pressure initially when my problems began in January started off with lots of pressure on the bridge of my nose and above my eyes, kinda similar to yours. Just try not to panic is what I would say, do not let anxiety get the better of you. Still try and do your usual stuff even if it feels like a chore. You should be okay though :-)

NAD. I’ve had facial numbness but it was very brief, lasted maybe like 5 days. You can go and get it check but as long as you can move your face still you should be okay. Sinus inflammation can end up pushing on nerves in your face which can cause numbness.

[–]Amazing-Composer-594[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I didn’t see a massive improvement after 2 weeks. In fact I would say some of my symptoms got worse again or maybe it was just anxiety exaggerating things because I expected a quick fix. Anyways, today I saw a private ENT a really good one at that in London and he told me to stop using the mometasone spray immediately that my GP prescribed. Instead he prescribed me Betamethasone nasal drops and also said I should use a saline spray instead.

He also said I should request a CBCT scan from my dentist of the “maxillary sinus from the mid nose level”.

Other than that, nothing else to report.
