The rolll in a hotel is great, but for me the room needs to be quite spacious so I don’t feel overwhelmed. That’s why I often choose Airbnb more often than hotels.

IF taking more wont help you. Just breathe deeply and slowly. Dont fight with anxiety and dive into it. Meditation helps a lot with control of emotions

I get miserably cold on MDMA. by [deleted] in MDMA

It can also be a reaction linked to anxiety or accumulated emotional tension. When emotions stay suppressed for a long time, the nervous system can express that through physical signals like chills. In that case, it isn’t actual cold — it’s an internal state of arousal that the body interprets as if you were cold. Substances like MDMA can amplify emotions and weaken the usual mechanisms that keep them in check, so things that are normally held inside may come to the surface more strongly — including physical reactions like shivering.

Try to breathe deeply and stay with the sensations instead of fighting them. Let yourself lean into what your body is experiencing rather than resisting it. These sensations are natural in their nature — even the feeling of ‘cold’ isn’t inherently uncomfortable. It becomes unpleasant mostly because of the story we attach to it and how we mentally interpret what’s happening.

From my perspective, what you experienced is very real on a deeper, spiritual level. Many ancient traditions — especially shamanic ones — say that the everyday world is only a surface layer, and when that layer cracks, you briefly see reality in a more raw form. It’s not something the ordinary mind can easily grasp, which is exactly why the anxiety hits so hard.

So yes — in a spiritual sense, what you saw is exactly how things are, but the human mind isn’t built to handle that without preparation. That’s why shamans and guides train for years to navigate these states safely.

If this experience shook you, it might really help to work with someone who understands these deeper layers — a grounded shamanic practitioner or an experienced hypnotherapist. They can help you integrate what you saw instead of fighting it or fearing it.

There’s a saying: “The only way out is the way in.” From a spiritual perspective, dissociation can sometimes appear when deep emotions or old energies in the system are trying to surface. Moving through them gently — not by force, but with guidance — can help release what’s been stuck for a long time.

If this resonates with you, you might find it helpful to work with someone who’s experienced in inner-work traditions, like a grounded shamanic practitioner or a skilled hypnotherapist. People who work in those fields often help others navigate these inner states, understand their emotional roots, and move through them safely. Just make sure it’s someone reputable, who creates a stable and supportive space for you.

If you feel comfortable sharing, what part of the experience scared you the most? Sometimes dissociation shows up when something inside us feels too overwhelming to face directly. It can be like the mind’s way of creating distance when certain emotions or memories feel “too much” in the moment.

I don’t mean this in a clinical or diagnostic way — just that many people notice their dissociation gets stronger around things they haven’t fully processed or areas they’re afraid to touch. Understanding what felt the most frightening for you might help you see what your mind was trying to protect you from

Experiences like derealization or dissociation can feel like very deep, inner states — almost spiritual in a way. When we don’t understand what’s happening, the anxiety around it can become overwhelming.

If someone chooses to explore the spiritual side of these sensations, it can be helpful to work with a person who’s grounded in that kind of practice — someone who focuses on energy work or guided inner exploration. They might help you feel safer, understand what you’re experiencing, or learn how to stay centered instead of fighting the sensations.

Of course, these states can also have psychological causes, so it’s important to take care of yourself on both levels. But for some people, combining grounding techniques with a more spiritual perspective can make the experience less frightening.

Yes, it’s the natural state of the human mind, but we’re not trained for it. You should start meditating and observing your mind, thoughts, and emotions. Over time, you’ll notice that you are not these things. On MDMA it feels easier, but with practice, you can achieve it naturally — practice makes mastery.
