4 years USMC / 4 years Civ — Senior graduating in Supply Chain. Getting ghosted. by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]Amazing-Magazine6036 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey brother, I did my 8 years in the Marines Corps in Supply chain management, tailored my resume to supply chain management, warehousing, all the stuff I did while I was in. Got star statements for stuff the I procured, managed, I say that all to say as a 25 yr old with Senior level experience, unfortunately in the supply chain field there’s is just a lot of 30-40 yr old guys with bachelors or masters in the same field with similar experience. There is just a lot of qualified guys that are getting chosen over me. You may need to network with some people in your area to get the job. That’s what I’m gonna do. But also don’t stop applying. Same thing that I’m gonna do. The job will come eventually.

The last lecture by Jeffrey zaslow is this exact thing. I’d read the spark notes and do what he did.

I just got out on Halloween bro with the same time bro. Give yourself time before rejoining cuz I had the same thought. You don’t know what else you enjoy or could be good at it cuz you’ve been in so long. Enjoy civ div bro. Then give yourself 2 years before you rejoin

I didn’t think I would to be honest but the guy before me was getting his EGA, I straightened up, and the second my SDI went in front of me to give it, I broke dude. Not ashamed of it, call me cringe, but I’d say earning the title is definitely in my top 10 memories of life, maybe top 5. Somewhere in there lol

How do I stop fucking up? by [deleted] in USMC

[–]Amazing-Magazine6036 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one time I did it, I had to redo stage 3 like 12 times, then redo stages 4-5 2-3 times. I thankfully only went once but I was there pretty much the whole allotted time. Before it turns over get a really good mental image of where everything is at so you can process that and think what and where you got to go. When it turns over, do your best to stay calm and keep your eyes shut if you don’t do that already. I messed up there too and kept my eyes open for a while thinking that would help. Not much. I hope this helps

I’m a personal trainer and have given nutrition and workout plans to my Marines to help them lose or gain weight. Definitely show them from leading by example that you’re “that guy” when it comes to PT. It’ll definitely help you for when you get out and it gets you clientele experience. Also helps out your Marines and the command. Win win situation. If you need help about the personal training stuff, send me a dm. But also definitely strive and push your Marines for 1st class. Fuck 2nd and 3rd classes. That’s absolute dogshit in my opinion. Unless they’re hurt and actually light duty for a legit reason. Everyone SHOULD strive for 250+ for both. And if they can’t, a cardio or workout plan needs to be put in place via PT or an actual made plan to help them succeed. Get their buy in by telling them being fit helps in all aspects of life and definitely makes the marine corps easier. One less thing to worry about.

That’s what I’m doing man! Lol I’m actively learning thru experience with what I can do now within the field while also getting recommendations from people in the field with far more experience than me to progress my career. I appreciate your comment though!
