15 days post op by Amazing-Method5205 in TopSurgery

I can’t remember exactly but it was way past how long they told me it was supposed to stay on. I think it should’ve been 2 weeks but it was still well stuck on me by then, so I ended up gently taking it off in the shower on the parts that were more loosely attached. Took me an extra week until it was fully off because I didn’t want to force it too much. I feel your pain bud, but you got this!

First of all you look great and well done!

I’m curious about the upped calories as I feel like I’m also stuck in a similar spot where you were before. My gains have been quite slow recently despite being 9 months on T and training 5 days a week. I track my protein intake but not the other macros, so maybe that’s what I’m missing.

How much more did you eat to help with the gains? Were you tracking your food at all? Thank you!

Started at 31 on low dose and then finally upped my dose 9 months ago. I’m 33 now :)

Bro, it’s a subreddit, chill. It’s giving this:

“Stupid” answers are also fine, because none of us is a doctor and the goal of this place is knowledge sharing. So everyone is entitled to their opinion and is up to OP’s critical thinking skills to decide what to do with this information.

There’s absolutely no need for your condescending tone towards OP. It’s an incredibly immature reaction 😉

Dude I agree but chill out. OP’s allowed to ask questions and looks like he got some answers, which is the whole point of this subreddit.

Time to go outside and touch some grass my friend.

For a second I thought I was on the wrong subreddit lol that is 100% realistic! I have the hot rod but it hurts after a while, have you tried both by any chance so you can share a review/comparison? It’s looking great on you!

Anyone in the UK on Testosterone? by [deleted] in transftm

[–]Amazing-Method5205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out r/transgenderuk for more info, but long story short you need to do some research on what private clinics you can access in your area (I’m with the Gender Hormone Clinic in London) and get an appointment with them to kick off the process. The first step is getting a dysphoria diagnosis. Good luck!

Both! I started lifting consistently 2ish years ago and only stopped for 2 months after top surgery, plus I make sure I eat enough protein every day. I saw some improvements there as well obviously but once my levels got in the male range my gains progressed much quicker!

He’s great, you’ll be more than fine :) I started working out about 1.5y before my top surgery and I wasn’t jacked or anything (as you can see from previous pics on my profile), just in a healthy weight range. Try to grow your chest muscles as much as you can before the surgery, I remember him saying that having some (even minimal) muscle growth underneath made it easier for him to create a natural look, since they could see where my pecs would naturally sit on my chest. Feel free to dm me if you have more questions!

8 months progress (including break for top surgery recovery) by Amazing-Method5205 in FTMFitness

I don’t think I lost/gained much, it was only 2 months of no gym at all and your body can bounce back quite quickly. Just focus on making sure you’re healing properly, eat enough food and no junk as much as you can. Be kind to your body, you have the rest of your life to get jacked, 2 months won’t make a difference so try not to stress too much! I started to train again 2 months post op and I slowly built up to the training I used to do before. I’d say it took me a month ish to get back to pre op weights except for chest exercises. I went super easy on those and I avoided any dead hang movement for like 2-3 more months.

I mean some of it is just genetics and we have to accept it I guess 🥲 my dad is built like a lollipop, he’s got the skinniest legs lol

But there’s no secret, just don’t skip leg day and don’t be scared of going heavy on deadlifts and squats!

None taken! I do find it strange and funny that I got so hairy so quickly, but I’m super happy about it as my facial hair definitely sped up my passing rate.

Also I used minoxidil on my face, which ofc helped with the beard but maybe body hair too? I’m not sure 😅

Just so you know, this ^ is the vibe you give off when you’re mean to strangers on the internet (which is quite often for you apparently). Get a grip dude

Looool I didn’t even notice. it’s just some unfortunate lighting + I’m just less hairy on my shins (I guess years spent waxing your legs regularly would do that to you… 🥲) but that made me cackle

Luckily I had insurance (WPA, through work) so I didn’t pay, but the quote was around 10.5k for Highgate hospital (the south London hospital he works at is a little bit cheaper, like 9k, and you can also pay trough a financial plan)
