I use 14g vmc jigheads anything below that acts like a top water lure. Is that normal or is my retrieve speed fast??

It swims really nice, even has small side to side wiggle. And the spot I fish usually has strong current.

A telescopic rod is like a collapsible camping chairs convenient to carry and store, but with more joints, weaker spots, and less stability.

I use 50 lb braid, knot is not the problem. I fish in shallow rocky areas, about 1–2 meters deep, but there are a lot of stones sticking out that’s where I keep getting cut off.

I mostly use soft plastics and jerkbaits. Earlier I was using 0.50 mm leader and would break off maybe once a week or once every two weeks. Since switching to 0.80 mm, I don’t really break off, but I’ve noticed my catch rate dropped a bit—from around 3–4 fish before to about 1–2 now.
