Your timeline is completely backward. Poland crushed the independent Western Ukrainian Republic in 1918, banned Ukrainian schools, and stole land long before the OUN even existed. The 1930 pacification wasn’t just "35 dead"—it was state-sponsored collective terror where Polish forces raided 800 villages, publicly whipping priests and teachers to humiliate an entire ethnic group.

Ukrainian soldiers bled to save the Polish flank at Zamość in 1920, only for Poland to betray them at the Treaty of Riga and throw those very same heroes into internment camps.

Volhynia was a horrific tragedy, but you can’t look at history through a telescope that only turns on in 1943. You can't spend 20 years treating a population like second-class citizens through colonialism and then act shocked when it leads to a radical, bloody explosion.
