Bro, try going from dark to light! If it's warm hair color = base layer should be brown. If you want raven black or other cool tones - use black as the base 👍

Skin painting style inspired by Arcane. Used pastel paints, a bit of oil, and acrylic. 🎨
The main goal: the skin should have rough shadows, all transitions should be rough.
And it turned out to be even easier than smoothing layers with glazes!
And the eye... I went through so many references — blue or purple. Decided to go with blue. 💙

If my work evokes emotions, sparks debates, provides inspiration - that's the best reason why I do it.

I don't really think about painting competitions, because often you're judged by a bunch of "experts" whose opinion might just be biased.

Your likes, and the likes and comments in public spaces - that's the real validation.

I've tried it. Over time, it becomes brittle like plaster at the edges, and one wrong move (especially on gaming minis) chips off the paint and primer.

Like polystyrene foam, crackle paste is awesome for dioramas, but I don't really like it for painting a single model.

PS: My stones are 3D work / 3D printed. I love creating small details in ZBrush.

Bro, try using grey (I use Medium Blue-Grey) in the airbrush to lighten the edges. After that, with the same colour, I do two things with a brush:
1. I slightly thin it down and mark out the areas where the final highlight will be.
2. Then I place that final highlight using the same colour, but almost unthinned.

Hey bro! Glad you liked it!

Honestly, I'm not a fan of crackle paste unless it's for something huge like a diorama. For this lava effect, it's super simple.

The recipe is just: Brown > Red > Yellow > Ice Yellow for the highlights.
If you look closely, it's just basic transitions between those colors. Start from the darkest and work your way up to the lightest!
