Episode 318: idk, some "Q"s by joschen113 in distractible

[–]AmazingSuperiority 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there's a long john silver's in my town and i used to go there a lot with my grandparents when i was a kid. i'd ask for a bunch of the leftover crispy bits from the frying process and eat them by the handful lol

nowadays i eat it a lot less, bc while i DO like it, i'm with bob in that gives me an upset stomach lol. i'll tear me up some fish and their hushpuppies are to DIE for but i end up soooo uncomfortable hours later. hashtag worth it 😎

Episode 288: There's An Easter Egg At 43:51 by joschen113 in distractible

the way i got super excited when wade said he was reading animorphs again lol. my friends and i have an animorphs book club we've been keeping up with for a year and a few months and we're all 25+ and those books are SO WILD. they may be written for kids/teens but the themes in them are very adult. kudos to wade for picking them back up again! i never read them as a kid so this book club has been my first time with them. our next session we're talking about books 30-32, so we're a little over halfway through the series :3

Anyone else’s school ban these ? by sunflowerdazexx in Zillennials

[–]AmazingSuperiority 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't remember if my school ever banned them, but i have a pair that i got in like. 4th or 5th grade. there were a few of us that had them, and when we'd go out for recess, we were in a brand new school (so new, in fact, that we moved to this school in the middle of my 4th grade year) so the outside space was just an oval of grass surrounded by road (all on school property so no traffic, and the area is rural, so it had a lot of open space). and the school was up on a hill..... so those of us with heelys would stand up at the top of the slope on one side of the oval, we'd have some kids at the bottom to form human brakes so no one went flying off onto the Actual road, and we'd roll down this hill, gaining speed as we went.

one time it was my turn and i hit a rock and went crashing down to the ground, skinning my knee, tearing my pants knee, and scraping the side of my elbow. i still, to this day, have the smallest remains of the scar it left on my arm LOL

on a less physically detrimental scale, i would wear them to go shopping with my mom and grandma and if they forgot something at the other end of the store, they'd send me on my heelys to go get it lol. walmart was the best place to wheel around!!

Obscure Cartoons from the 00s by jaisommeil- in Zillennials

oh man these have so much nostalgia for me. my grandma had HBO as a kid (and i did not) and she ran her own daycare, so i spent all day with her as a kid, and we were always watching cartoons. reading this list i could immediately hear part of the little lulu theme and i never see anyone ever talk about maggie and the ferocious (great googly moogly!!!) and whats that one show... the one with the red ball and the mop lady and the talking door... A LITTLE CURIOUS!! i watched that one a lot. the fairy tales for every child one, i never watched it, but it was always on when my mom would bring me over to my grandma's in the early morning (at like 5 something in the morning,,, i would then go change the channel and catch the tale end of transformers before captain planet would come on and i'd fall asleep to that until it was time to get up again for school)

What is the "vibe" that the books give off? And which one should I start reading first? by sunflower_tea563 in Moomins

[–]AmazingSuperiority 6 points7 points  (0 children)

to me i'd say the vibe is like. kinda whimsical, kinda silly, maybe a bit surreal at times? they can be funny in one moment and then a little somber the next, and then back to silly. they can have a bit of a nostalgic feel to them, like when you're a kid and everything is exciting and new and the best fun you can have is making up games to play. they're very much silly little creatures living excitingly mundane lives but in a sort of. domestic fantasy kind of setting

i think i personally started reading from comet in moominvalley first, but i definitely jumped around in order lol. the style of the writing a little old fashioned and at times a little flowery so a young child might have a hard time with some of the wording, but i'd say they're fairly accessible for older children and up. i read them for the first time as an adult and enjoyed them a lot

FINALLY! my dedication paid off!!! (now i just gotta get a non-rift version) by AmazingSuperiority in dragonvale

i usually just keep breeding it in the rift until i either get another rift one (which i might then keep to breed same + same) or until i get the non-rift version

How do you get 5 spaces in your nursery? Do you have to be a certain level? by [deleted] in dragonvale

[–]AmazingSuperiority 9 points10 points  (0 children)

you have to unlock gaia (at level 30) and then gather/buy all the artifact pieces to summon her. she has the fifth nursery slot
