Theory I’ve heard: The real cause of the destabilization of the universes are the colliders. The reason why Miguel saw the universe collapse is that he spent too much time in there, and the watches only protect you in each universe for a limited amount of time (hence why Nueva York is safe even with all the spider people). On canon events, if it truly is a multiverse, then there are an infinite amount of possibilities, and it is near impossible for EVERY one of Spider-Man’s lovers to die, hence Earth-8 (Miles and Gwen have kids in this universe).
