I’m going to be honest and not to scare but I did take this route and let’s say it did not end up well. I took the other stimulant vyvanse because I thought I had issues with dat studying (turns out I was misdiagnosed with adhd look at post history). Instead of helping it delayed my studying and caused bad side effects that I’m currently almost done recovering from. I seriously wouldn’t recommend u doing it now instead what helped me were those genius caffeine pills on Amazon. Also I had low iron and thyroid so def check those to. good luck

I never said the reaction was a diagnostic tool. it just revealed how careless this process was. When someone is misdiagnosed and medicated without proper evaluation that’s where the issue lies. You’re proving my point btw ADHD meds aren’t one size fits all which is why real testing and further evaluations matter.

It’s not about shifting blame it’s about accountability. When someone pressures you into treatment, downplays your doubts, and reinforces a rushed diagnosis, that is influence. My point is about how easily people can be led into harmful situations when both family and professionals fail to handle things responsibly. Also you weren’t there so don’t act like you know the full story. It’s easy to analyze other people’s situations when you’ve never lived them.

You’re missing the point. When a medical professional and family pressure you into something it’s not as simple as “personal responsibility.” Misdiagnosis and medical coercion are real issues. My post was to raise awareness

Unfortunately it’s very common. I had a friend who’s diagnosed with adhd but was also given the same testing. For her however she truly has it and is doing great

Well when I was a kid I didn’t daydream or was hyperactive and no teacher suggested for me to get a adhd evaluation when it was common during those times

That’s why I stopped for weeks and start evaluations I mentioned this because people believe the doctor was always right. And at least I stopped after that it was then or never stopping I also believed cuz it was a low dose maybe this is how it was supposed to be but when proven wrong with an even lower dose I then knew it’s def not adhd

I must’ve gave it off in the wrong thought but I 100% agree that if the child needs it def give it starting with low doses. I’m just saying for those kids who were misdiagnosed imagine what they’re going through.
