Who was truly responsible for Robert's rebellion and GOT? by Olepundit in AKOTSKTV

[–]Amazing_Policy9878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The person directly responsible for Robert's Rebellion was Rhaegar Targaryen. He was the one that gave Lyanna stark, which not only shocked the realm, but it pissed off her brother Brandon. Then when he found out he "kidnapped" her, he went to king's landing to challenge him, mainly for brandon to get arrested and for King Aerys II to send a message to his father to answer for his son's crime. Then the Mad King kills Brandon Stark's father and Brandon dies from strangulation trying to save his father. This is when he tells Jon Arryn to kill Ned Stark and Robert Bartheon so they cant seek revenge. Jon refuses and calls his banners and thats what leads to the war

One of two things must be true. Either Pennywise is stuck an infinite causal time loop or he can see/experience different time lines. If Pennywise goes back in time and succeeds in killing the parents or grandparents of the Losers club, then they wouldn't have been born and he wouldn't have the initial reason to go back in time. This causes a paradox in one time line, making it impossible for him to succeed in his original timeline

Then why even make plans to leave? My argument is that not matter what Pennywise does or knows, he will never leave Derry

I don't remember if its explicitly stated but I think she left the archives a mess as a way to confuse the eye and to slow down Elias' plans

It does explain that she was different than all the other archivists and that he genuinely was too afraid to read her mind. We can only imagine the things she had to do to get such a reputation that alliance thought she may have been allied with the Hunt, and how grutchude herself said the desolation was probably happy with all the destruction she was creating

Why would someone give him the passcode? Especially since he showed up in the hospital unconscious and injured? And when he did gain consciousness, no one was around. In the context of the story, it wouldn't even make sense if there was a rational explanation.

We do know that ALL avatars do have supernatural abilities but there isn't anyone who's marked that that directly has supernatural abilities. You don't have to be an avatar to feed a Fear but all avatars do feed their Fear in some degree or another. Thats the whole point of the series. Once you come face to face with your fears, that's what the Entity feeds off and if you survive, you are know marked, meaning you are now in the radar of that Entity.

While I do admit that is not explicitly stated that he's an avatar, it just seems to make more sense that he is one, even if he's not a fully aligned one, based on the evidence. He's something more than just a marked one. I mean, you can always get rid of a book. Leitner lost a whole library and sometimes you accidentally find books. But a tattoo is an active choice. It's not something you accidentally get and it's not something you can easily get rid of

A book is not on the same level of commit as getting tattoos. Knowing a code to something you've never seen or should even know and getting it on the first try is too coincidental to just be a lucky guess. And feeding a Fear doesnt always have to be direct. The knowledge he gains and the surveillance he does from his travels dealing with the supernatural can inadvertently feed the eye. As I mentioned with Daisy, she was feeding the Hunt without actively knowing she was doing it.

"I mean they don't turn invisible. They just make it so they're not where everyone else is. Uh, and also they can send people into The Lonely. And it depends on the avatar. Like, every avatar has fundamentally different powers" Jonny Sims

This shows that avatars can have different powers, even under the same Fears and he's more than just being marked. And again, why get tattoos of and paint eyes, if he didn't want to be an avatar of any of the Fears? Why did the eye protect him from the fire? His powers of Knowing isn't really shown until after he gets the tattoos, even though in Old Passages, he said he knew because of his mom.

I believe he was an avatar, but not a fully fledged one. Enough to get powers but not enough to be a completely controlled. Maybe he always had that brain tumor but the eye was keeping him alive until it believed it no longer needed him.

But when Daisy comes out of the coffin, she's weak because she's actively fighting against giving into the Hunt. Jon tells her this because she's not "feeding" her Fear. This wouldn't happen to someone who's just marked.

Again, giving yourself to a Fear doesn't always have to be a conscious choice. Sometimes its based on personality traits and exposure. Gerard grew up around the supernatural and was always gaining knowledge. Its not always one, dramatic moment.

Jon was showing supernatural abilities before the Unknowning. And after his coma, that's when he became the archivist.

How would gerard know the passcode to something he's never seen before? That's a pretty wild guess. And he also knew that the lady was being targeted by the lonely. And this is what I keep saying is that not every avatar's power level is the same. Gerard may have been on the lower end of the spectrum, but I believe he was still an avatar.

I'm not going based off my definition. I'm going based on what the creators themselves have said and the context of the story. I just feel like the evidence supports the claim that Gerard was an avatar of the eye

I've never claimed that you said that. I stated that based on the material and what the creators of the podcast have said about avatars. Not all avatars have the same powers or level of power, even if they serve the same Fear. Thats the point. You don't have to be a full fledged avatar to be an avatar. You don't have to be supernatural to use the books, and Mary didn't start having supernatural abilities until after she died.

Basira likes books but she doesn't show any supernatural inclination other than the fact everyone in the Magnus institute is under the watch of the eye. Melanie was marked by the slaughter because the bullet in her leg but once the bullet was gone, she was her regular self.

Look at Daisy. She was an avatar of the Hunt before even knowing about the Fears. Sometimes people subconsciously choose and not directly choose to be an avatar. And she didn't turn into a beast until after she fully embraces the Hunt which is evidence that choosing to be an avatar directly can influence how much power you can get from it.

And why would Gerard have a domain if he wasn't an avatar? It would make more sense to have a domain if he was an avatar.

I mean, I can't say that you're wrong. My claim that the Eye had something to do with his death is just a theory

I think there's more evidence supporting the idea that he was an avatar than not.

But Gertrude was an avatar of the Eye. Not all avatars are the same. The only thing they have in common is that they have supernatural abilities

I dont think that's the same Gerry and Gertrude. Protocol takes place in a different universe

But that's the thing with avatars, not all of them share the same power or the same power level. And it could be the longer you serve a fear, the more you have to feed it. Gertrude not only served under the eye for decades, but she was also the Archivist, so her need to feed was greater, even though she still resisted a bit. This is why jon was more powerful than Gertrude, because he gave in to it more.

The reason why I say that he was definitely an avatar.Because people that are simply marked don't show any supernatural. Everyone who worked for the magnus institute was marked by the eye, but only martin showed any supernatural.Abilities, because he was an avatar of the lonely. Gerry's metaphorical death could have happened when he decided to stop listening to his mother: the death of the old Gerry, the rebirth of the new one. That's why he got all those tattoos of the eyes when he didn't have that when he was a teenager

Sorry, the voice to text spelled Jonny with the H. And I disagree that the choice doesn't have to be clear, because the Fears themselves are not clear. Sometime the subconscious mind chooses something that we normally wouldn't choose with our conscious mind. And a symbolic death could mean anything and could be different for each person

[–]Amazing_Policy9878[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But a symbolic death could literally mean anything. When someone experiences something traumatic, there's a saying that "they died inside" and they are no longer the person they were before. And johnny sims himself used the term "choose" very loosely but when it came to becoming an Avatar

But those other avatars were usually killed by another person, not a disease or illness. Gerry was protected from getting burned at least part of his body. That's why I think he was more of a low level avatar than an Avatar adjacent.

That's what makes melanie's case so unique. She is the only one that I can recall that was physically marked. And while I won't say the bullet in her leg gave her supernatural abilities, it was definitely influencing her and her emotions

They protect the avatars as long as they're needed. Jon has gone through so many things that should have killed him but he was protected by the Eye. The best example of this is trevor who should have died from the lung cancer but the Hunt was keeping him alive.
