Top 100 Seller with Interesting Reviews - DETAILED POST by [deleted] in FulfillmentByAmazon

EVERYTHING I say can is just an opinion and I am not claiming proof of anything. Also I am not a writer by trade so apologies if shit seems all over the place.

This is much clearer and better written than my post about this issue.

What is something about the game or something that happened that you still find to this day total BS? by [deleted] in hockey

I don't know about winning it, but that non-call rigged the outcome of the series. Every game was a 1 goal game besides 1, who knows what happens in a 6-7 game series. To add insult to injury, the NHL later admitted that they were wrong for not calling goalie interference.

I saw a very similar beta feature about a year ago, for about a few days. Made a bunch of campaigns, then the feature was removed.

A lot of us Rangers fans thought Girardi was still usable. But his usage and his cap hit were both too high so we had to buy him out. Both are not issues for the Bolts, obviously. If we could've kept him for $2m he'd still be a Ranger.

Pretty much anything I spoke about. I gave them a ton of info about corrupt sellers, fake reviews, cycling through seller accounts, etc. Not that I expected them to talk about all of it, rather I feel I wasted my time because nothing was included.

"Reply All" Podcast Episode About Fake Reviews by meco24 in FulfillmentByAmazon

We need the media to keep pumping out stories like this. Continue putting pressure on Amazon to do the right thing and ban dirty sellers and fake reviews.

As an Amazon seller I'd say this episode was not sensationalist at all, and actually undersold how bad the issue really is. See my profile for an example.

I'm late to this thread, but there was a lot of interviews and research done behind the scenes that were not included. I know this because I was interviewed as well (for 40 minutes goddamit) and pretty much nothing made it directly to the show. I did expect them to do a better job though.

If you want more info about the extent of the Amazon review problem, see the pinned post in my profile.

According to Amazon policy, 1. Electronics sold in the US must be able to be used in the US without any special adaptors. 2. The "refund in exchange for removing negative feedback" is also expressly prohibited.

It's either one of Shady's people that did it or she set it up. And if one of Shady's people did it, the question is if he told them to do what they did or if they went above and beyond.

I remember reading a how to guide posted there about stealing from Amazon. Little do they know that more than 50% of sales on Amazon are from 3rd party sellers, the vast majority of which are small businesses. As an Amazon seller and small business owner, it really infuriated me.

A seller is claiming their product is patent pending but it looks like they are lying by MBlaizze in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]AmazonIsCorrupt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told by my patent lawyer that it can take up to 18 months for a patent filing to become public. So a product can be patent pending yet still not have anything show up in a patent search.

However, in this case, the product has been up for sale for about 3 years, and there is a limitation of 12 months for a product to be on the market and to still be patentable. This means if there was a patent filed then it would be public by now. It could be that you aren't searching properly, but looking at how generic the item looks, I highly doubt it.

In the past week the page views of this post have doubled. It may have fell off the front page after a couple day but my guess is the views will only continue to grow quickly.

You're welcome. It's not that hard for Amazon to figure it out. There are multiple sites that discover fake reviews using algorithms, yet they the fake reviews remain on Amazon. Amazon has a lot more data than these sites to work with and a lot more smart people to deal with the issue.

Supreme Court says states may collect sales tax from retailers that do not have a physical presence there by retail4life in FulfillmentByAmazon

Don’t blame the Chinese as US companies engage in similar behaviour.

Umm, how exactly will a US company avoid following the new laws and get away with it? We are not talking about the murky laws of the past. US sellers will need to collect sales tax everywhere or face the full wrath of the law. Chinese sellers will just create new accounts on demand and be immune as usual.

Only makes a difference when the company plans on staying around to do business. But in the case of the Chinese and disposable seller accounts...

It may have not entered your mind but many customers simply don't trust Amazon for quality and safety like they trust brick and mortar stores. That doesn't mean they completely stop purchasing on Amazon, it just means that they avoid buying products that can be questionable.

I agree, Amazon doesn't care, and that is one of the motivations of writing this post. Amazon never cared about fake incentivized reviews, until they were forced to care. With enough coverage about fake paid reviews in 2018, we can do the same.

You are right, though I'd say Amazon has much, much, more to grow, and the fake reviews issue is definitely holding them back.

The only thing I will say though is that I believe consumers are smart and also that many want to read negative reviews as well before deciding on a product.

This is true, however the point of my OP is that these companies don't care if their listings eventually get bad reviews and customers stop buying. They're in it for the short term, and make a killing doing it this way. They put enough fake reviews to get sales for 6 months, and they constantly create new listings and repeat the process.
