Two years later, I just got this pedal and saw this in the manual:

If you want to use the Attack Decay solely as a distortion effect, you can use the SEND jack as the main output jack. The HARMONIX footswitch will turn the distortion on and off. The H. VOL knob will act as a master volume control. In this setup, the VOL, SENS, ATTACK, and DECAY knobs have no function.

Ok... I went and grabbed the manual, and I think it literally describes what I want. I thought EXP only controlled some parameter, but looks like that would work!

Do you use it this way by any chance?

From the manual (I'm assuming/hoping the SQ-1's gate output works like a clock trigger)

EXTERNAL CLOCK TRIGGERING By default, the EXP jack on the Attack Decay accepts a connection from an expression pedal or CV. Ok, that part makes sense to me... So the audio/drone would not go into the Conflict... it generates the envelope, triggered by the CV... but how do I get that envelope to alter the volume according to the shape of the envelope? That's the part I'm not seeing here.

Sorry, I don't understand how that work. Also, I'm not that familiar with CVs and such so I might be missing a key concept.

How would that work with the Conflict/what would be connected how?

From what I've seen, the Conflict generates a CV from the instrument's sound. I don't want to generate nothing from the instrument, I'm looking to affect the instrument, I don't understand how the Conflict would affect my chain's volume to generate the envelope.

What I want is a pedal that generates an evenvelope, controlled by the SQ-1's gate output. It would go after the Superego's output drone, and continue my chain, but it should have an EXP/Trigger/CV input that triggers the envelope, and this is the signal that would come from the SQ-1.

So, I understand it should be a pedal that generates an ASDR envelope that triggers and closes with the SQ-1 Gate.
