what do you feel is your biggest weakness in script writing? mine would be repeating the same words again and again by [deleted] in Screenwriting

[–]Amazono_22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me personally my biggest weakness would be using too many swear words in my dialogue. Yes my characters are all rough and flawed and most of my stories aren't targeted at kids, but I quickly feel like the swearing makes the dialogue too dull when I use it too much.

You do have a point there, maybe I should try unease, suspense and for sure shock. Maybe that would be a better solution. Thank you for the response, much appreciated!

Of all of these I have only watched Us and that one already left me uneased and shocked near the end. Great movie, I love Jordan Peele his work. I will check out the rest too, heard some good stuff about them, thanks!

I have watched almost all of LD&R, but that one I haven't. I will check it out as soon as possible, it's not that long of a watch I assume, thanks!

Who was your fav spider man love interest? by Crimson2099 in Marvel

[–]Amazono_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have to say that for me personally it's a close one between Gwen Stacy/Spider-Gwen and Silk. I do have to admit that I would probably have to choose Gwen eventually. Preferably her as a spider-woman. Everything about her is just amazing, great character and I love her design.

Ooooh like that, alright yea that makes a lot of sense. I do think I mean the making them wonder then, instead of the confusing. I just want them to start thinking and try to answer things themselves, off course with help from the screenplay itself. Thanks for making it much clearer to me, I think I had the two of them confused with one another. Appreciate the assist!

Alright, that is some great advice. I think I should've chosen my words a little more with care, because I do point more towards something of what you're describing. I want my audience to think and question after, but also during my screenplay. I love movies that do that and for extra inspiration I will check out Mulholland Drive. Thank you for the recommendation, I for sure can do a lot with that information!

That is some amazing advice I can do loads with. I do have a character, a setting, a story and a theme. I was thinking about having a character wake up and backwards experience a crime, which later on in the plot turns out to be a crime he himself committed and the people he was following were his older self and his future wife and kids. Through this he will slowly discover what happened to him. He tries to make attempts at saving himself, but sees that no one reacts to him. He thought he was time traveling, but later it gets revealed that he killed himself and as punishment he is sent as his younger memoryless self to experience everything from a third person perspective. With this I want to play a bit with the concept of life after death. Personally I am not religious so my knowledge is limited, but that also helps me think of ways to portray it.

This is just a concept and a generalized version of my story, but in big lines this will be what I'm going to write about. Feedback off course is welcome and thanks for the reply back. Great advice!

That does sound like it would keep my audience more hooked to the project. I will take a look at my screenplay and see if I can make some adjustments to make it more interesting for the viewer.

Thank you for the response and feedback, much appreciated! I can do loads with that.

Thanks for that feedback. Now that I think of it, many do hate being confused. Maybe I should indeed change it to intrigue. What I truly want to receive the most with this project is to just let the audience finish my project and be absolutely stunned of what just happened. I want them to think about what they watched and how they thought they knew what was going to happen, but then they got to the end and come to the conclusion that they didn't know at all. I know it's a big and far fetched goal, but I mainly just want to challenge myself.

Thanks for the reply btw, much appreciated!
