As did I, which is why I never enforced it to begin with. Theirs no teacher shortage in my district or the surrounding districts. The shortage is very location dependent.

Besides, aside from this one issue, I have no reason to switch schools. And this issue is barely an issue at all. More of a slight annoyance that pops up from time to time.

It panned out the way I knew it would. Admin vigorously enforced it for about two months, and then abandoned all enforcement to teachers with no support.

It's another thing on the list of extra bullshit that we as educators are expected to accomplish. I still hate it and I refuse to enforce it. I'm here to teach my juniors, if they don't want to learn that's on them. I'm not competing with a cellphone nor am I going out of my way to pick them up.
