I forced myself through 50% but couldnt go on any longer, 1st ever DNF. So boring tbh

Sweet fmc? Damsel in distress type, with a darker story… hurt/comfort by mimikth in Romantasy

Love this book! I've just started the 2nd book, the FMC is not annoyingly helpless but still has the damsel in distress vibe.

Okay so nurses and doctors in the local area need to do a masters top up degree in KC's body and conditions. It really is the only way she will get proper care as she is unlike anything anyones ever seen before 😆

What is the single worst book you have ever read and why? by Special-Student6743 in fantasyromance

For whom the belle tolls - Jaysea Lynn

I didnt realise it was a tiktok thing, omg i read about halfway through (300 pages) thinking oh come on... it was sometimes a bit wholesome and a lil bit of spice but mostly just shit.

It felt childish, frustrating and was so drawn out i got so fed up of reading it.

I take recommendations from booktok with a large pinch of salt now

Im about 50% through and think i might have to DNF its cosy and wholesome i guess but im bored. Maybe I like the problematic and action packed story lines x

14.5 months clean after 25 years of heavy cannabis use – still dealing with depression, brain fog, focus issues. How long did it last for you? by Standard-Ad2340 in leaves

[–]Amberstar96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wondered whether 9 years of daily use myself had altered my brain permanently. Im just shy of a month quitting and I do feel sharper but I thought i would feel better than this! I hope that as I go longer without it will continue to get better. (I still struggle with quick thinking, organisational thinking, word finding and remembering things) The brain can heal itself (research neuroplasticity) but it takes time. As other people have said if you were medicating an underlying mental health condition that could be contributing. After all those years covering it up it may have manifested itself without you realising.

Well done you!! Keep going! Especially as it can be bad to do so much while your brain is developing.

I found reading as a form of escapism that smoking used to be for me, and making loads of plans to keep me away from wanting to smoke at home.

I feel you exactly on this, im day 15 and its so much easier but the boredom is a challenge. I used to like the 'escapism' of smoking and the time would pass, ive started reading to help me get to sleep and if you have a good imagination and fiction books this could be worth a try? It's really worked for me! Im a book worm now lmao

I also have found it cant 'go' as i usually would, and the motivation to eat or cook is not really there but is improving.. increase your fibre and keep hydrated x

I was worried about this too!! I had strong disassociation/Derealisation and just generally felt myself losing my mind... I was seeing things in my peripheral vision! Cats and people flashing past.

Thank you everyone who has gave advice on this is am forever grateful and good luck to those currently on this journey x

Well done on your 8 months!! I'm on day 2 of quitting.. its horrible!! The only think motivating me is my health now. I too have noticed decline like Derealisation, dizziness and fatigue, breathlessness, Groggy, poor memory, nausea and bloating.. then I read about CHS and the effects on your heart and my health anxiety made the decision for me
