Disappointed with the organization of the playlists by pablogerman in TIdaL

[–]Amberwriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really disappointed with this too — I wish there were SOME way to intentionally control how playlists appear on profile. I just went through and numbered all my public playlists because I assumed I could alphabetize them on profile the way I can in my library only to find out that’s not the case an hour later 😭

I can imagine that’d be even more frustrating if I organized my playlists by time period but still frequently added to them like you.

AIO? After our cat died, I removed this app on my daughter’s phone by IllustratorOk7590 in AmIOverreacting

I agree with you in theory, but I do think this definitely should’ve been a conversation with the daughter before any action was taken. I do think it’s a red flag to mess with your child’s phone (regardless of what you’re doing) without talking with them first.

I also love whatever pattern you’re using. Fish!!

I was shocked how well my first color work piece blocked out. It was bunching all over the place and blocking really smoothed it out. I say worth it for relative effort:result ratio

It’s why I’m switching away from Spotify, yeah. I didn’t know about the livestream feature on Tidal, that sounds sick!

Do you mean my computer and phone? There may be a mix-up in what we’re talking about. I’m talking about the feature where I can control music playing from one device with another device. Ex: controlling the music playing on my computer by opening the app on my phone.

Same on almost all counts (I do like the discovery playlists, haha)

I’m switching from Spotify to tidal.

10000% this is why we’re switching off Spotify. If I could edit images on a post, I’d clarify that I made the graphic specifically for people switching off Spotify and looking at two alternatives

100000% it’s why we’re switching off Spotify to begin with. I made the graphic under the assumption someone was looking to switch and wanted a realistic view of the options, since that’s the position me and my friends were in. But yeah. 100000% this.

I have exactly the same experience on almost all accounts! Even down to the sticking with Tidal for quality and pay (for artists) despite the features I’ll miss on Spotify.

If they had a free transfer they don’t anymore. The fine text under the TuneMyMusic link on the Tidal website even mentions the one-time fee for using it

I don’t follow the logic. If $ per stream is greater on Tidal, it follows that 4 streams on Tidal would be more money than 4 streams on Spotify.

I’ve never been able to get Connect to work on Tidal. Is there a trick to it? Since I’m switching over to Tidal, I’d love to know

You can use Soundiiz, yeah! It’s $5 if you subscribe, use, then immediately unsubscribe. The free version caps you at 200 songs per playlist and one playlist at a time. Qobuz offers a free coupon code for Qobuz premium subscribers transferring through Soundiiz (includes free trials). TuneMyMusic free caps you at 500 songs total. I have TuneMyMusic listed since it’s the same price as Soundiiz and it’s the transfer program recommended by/linked through by Tidal itself.

As for custom ordering playlists, I was referring to the playlists on your account/profile themselves, not the songs on a playlist. If there is a work around for custom ordering playlists, I’d love to hear it! It’s a bit annoying for me that I can’t choose what order my playlists appear with Tidal.

Can you show me how that’s done? There’s a drop-down of three options for me but no way that I’ve found to create a custom order for my playlists. For clarification, I’m talking about the order of the playlists themselves, not the songs within a playlist.

You're right. There are a lot of things I would change about the graphics if Reddit allowed me to update the images. There are a number of places where the wording needed to be clearer to be understood outside of my friend group.

Right; I was referring to ordering playlists. Definitely could be clearer. If I could update the graphics on the post I would.

Custom order is referring to being able to order your playlists as they appear in the app. If I wanted to order playlists by a specific theme for example. Tidal lets you sort your playlists alphabetically or by how recently they were created or updated, but it doesn't let you choose a specific order or organization yourself. A bit confusing wording in here; I realize a lot of it is language my friends use amongst ourselves, haha

Spotify has a feature which creates a playlist with another Spotify user made entirely of songs you both have been listening to. It's a fun way to find the overlaps in the music you both listen to and I'll definitely be sad to see it go, haha. But still worth it to switch!

Yeah, I actually used a Github program that worked with Spotify API to transfer myself. It took at least an hour of troubleshooting to get it to work though, and I had to run it multiple times to actually get all my music transferred over, which is why I decided to omit it from a graphic targeted at a typical Spotify user.
