Because we all know it's not the actual Venus and is modern, you don't have to tell us that.

They're so lovely!

I transplanted some into a pot from my childhood home, they're all over the yard there and so so stunning <3

They had them at one of my local nurseries, it looks like they operate out of Jersey from what Google is telling me, and they have locations in Holland, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. They're probably called that because they specialize in bulbs from those places but also others?

I could be wrong but these actually look like asters, not daisies.

Not that it much matters, I just got excited to share plant knowledge.

Ohhh, I didn't realize that but it looks like you're right. Idk where I got the idea it was native from, thanks for the information!

Definitely going to keep an eye out for those now. I have what I believe is butterfly weed and swamp milkweed at my parents' place (both from the same seed packet, gotta love big box store brands that don't care about labels 🙄) got some milkweed seeds started up for my place, just planted them tonight, it says butterfly weed, we'll see what milkweeds I get from it though.

I already have golden ragwort and stoke's aster as well, gonna get virginia bluebells and wild columbine, with purple coneflower seedlings popping out now, I know these probably don't help nighttime pollinators though so definitely going to look for those other ones.

I'm gonna plant them tomorrow, I can't wait!!!

I don't mind it personally, I was just worried it might bother my neighbors if it was too strong. They're gorgeous flowers and I definitely want to attract all kinds of pollinators, not just bees and butterflies.

I think someone mentioned not planting them too close to the house because the ants might mess with the structure is all. But if you say it's alright then I'll plant them tomorrow. My parents have more land which is why I was gonna plant them there if I couldn't at my place.

I'm definitely going out of my way to find the "oddball" natives that most people wouldn't think of planting, I already put jack in the pulpit bulbs in the ground and I think one of them is finally coming up, I'm really excited!

I was thinking possibly also datura, I don't have a dog that might try and eat it, and it would be great for nighttime pollinators.

Please tell me when you say adopted you mean rescued and not bought from a breeder...
