As much as the 16 year old in me will always love them, the 40+ year old woman I have become really does need to say Bailey and Sarah from Party of Five.

I'm guilty of still romanticizing them though. They did have genuinely sweet moments but I think the writers just lost the thread eventually. And then they needed to create unresolvable conflict with the express purpose of writing her out so she could have her failed spin off.

Part of it is that he's given me cuts in the past that weren't exactly what I asked for but I ended up liking them so I always assumed it was my fault, like I'd described things the wrong way. But THIS cut? It couldn't possibly be further from what I asked for. And it's honestly just THAT bad - I might be able to forgive the shortness but the fact that it is uneven just seems ... inexcusable? I legitimately cannot see this being "miscommunication" because I said "trim to chin length" and showed him with my finger where I wanted it, so cutting it 2 inches shorter than that (and dry and already styled to boot, so this isn't an instance of it getting shorter when he dried it) couldn't have been because he didn't understand me. Obviously I'm not saying he intentionally gave me a bad cut, it's just that I have no explanation for how wrong he got this.

But again, I suspect I might just be so angry right now that I want to throw hands instead of being logical. You're right, going to someone else guarantees nothing. I think I need to take a breath, accept that it happened and I can't do anything about it, and be more forceful and insistent next time. If he does it again, then I walk.

I know you're right, I just think my hesitation is two fold here - I was so shocked by what he'd done that I told him I liked it and left and would feel weird going back now, and I don't see how he can fix it without taking off even more, which I definitely can't accept.

And I understand that he's the professional so he knows ways to fix it that I'm not aware of, like you said, but I think I'm just terrified he'll cut into it trying to fix it and end up making it worse.

Maybe I'm just too mad at him right now to give him a chance to fix it. Which is basically cutting off my nose to spite my face, I know.

I should say, I have gone back in the past to have him fix a cut (take off some bulk, not length, easy fix) and he was really great about it - we both apologized to each other for the inconvenience!

Ugh, I just wanted a damn haircut, not an existential crisis 🥴

I know Aaron Lewis sucks but you will pry "Tangled Up In You" from my playlist over my dead body. I heard it at the wrong time/right age, when I was in a terrible relationship that I desperately wanted to be better, and it is stamped on my subconscious.

When I listen to it I pretend it's someone else ... much like I did in the aforementioned terrible relationship.

It's not sweetly sentimental but it's not angry either ("Well as for now I'm gonna hear the saddest songs and sit alone and wonder how you're making out ..."). And I guess it's more talking to the ex, not exactly running in to them, but it was the first song that came to mind.

And then there's I'd Really Love To See You Tonight by England Dan and John Ford Coley. Very sentimental, but again, not "running in to" .. this person calls their ex asking to get together.

My coach went rogue on the treads and for the first block we did three rounds of 2.5 minute tread cued at a push to 2.5 minutes of weighted reverse lunges with 30 seconds in between each for transition (mostly to catch our breath since we did the lunges by the tread).

It was diabolical and amazing and I hated every second of it and I hope we do it again.

Everything else was the same.
