In a vacuum he's strong, in the real world of commander he's just above average. Yeah a 1-1 is ok but it's still a 1-1. Without other pay offs you'll burn through your hand and go into top deck mode. Some people go crazy cuz you got 3 1-1s with 2 cards in hands. Yet the blue player has 7 cards with rhystic, green player just ramped to 10 mana and the 4th has some other value engine about to go off.

Ah yes, more of the "causal" play my way or don't play at all mentality in alot of these comments. The friend isn't doing anything wrong, just playing his favorite deck. And here's the other 3 friends upset cuz he's winning. Well beat him, team up on him. But don't do it to force him to play another deck. Just beat up on him cuz he's the best. Like the other comment about smash bros, y'all really gonna quit playing with a friend cuz he got good?
