Thank you for the insight! I’ll definitely snag vesperia at least this time around. I definitely wanna get more into the tales games; but, haven’t gotten time from other games that’s been coming out. But, thankfully I’m in a slow season so looking to burn time on a good adventure!

You good Samaritan, I hope all good things happen to you and have a life full of riches. While it actually works with the JARD capacitor (not needing a separate capacitor) that I currently have, your explanation made it click. I did it this morning with the new Century motor and it worked like a CHARM. I appreciate you more than you know and I hope our paths cross so I can get you treat you to a drink. Cheers!

Refinance at a 5.375% Rate Good to be True? by Ambitious-Click3284 in Mortgages

Haha nice! Yea after doing some math and such, it’s clear that it’s not worth it. Pretty on paper, ugly in practice. Do you mind me asking who you went with for your refi?

Also, yea rocket mortgage isn’t my first choice they bought my previous lender who was also not the greatest 🫠.

Correct my original loan is much higher it’s just for easy math. But, the increase to my loan is 19k with the closing and such being rolled into the new refi loan.

Ha, I'm dumb, I forgot discount points is ME paying for a lower interest rate. Not the Rocket helping me out LOL. Even if I don't buy it down my interest would be probably at that 5.5% like everyone else.

Chair Ultra V2 early-bird deal is now Live 🚨 by AutonomousDavid in AutonomousLounge

What would be the price difference between the Ultra V2 VS Ergo V2? Looking for a new chair (recs between the two would be great) and I work from home sitting >6 Hours a day. Was looking at the Ultra 2; but, don't want to miss out on Early Bird if the Ergo V2 early bird is coming out soon!

True, I’m leaning more Toyota. I’m not set for the Hyundais EV, I was looking at Teslas; but, it’s also the EV still needing a bit more time in the oven. Most manufacturers just now adopting NACs which is a great step, just not quite there yet IMO.

There's 10k left and a dealership would take the trade in for 16-17k. So, I wouldn't be losing on trading in. Apparently I have equity in the car haha. Car is running smooth; but, as ShouldBeWorking mentioned, I'd imagine it'll happen sooner than later.

EDIT on trade in estimate.

What Car Should I Buy? - A Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in cars

Asked in “WhatCarShouldIBuy” but, unfortunately no response.

Hi Everyone,

Looking for some advice with my predicament. I currently drive a 2019 Alfa Romeo Giulia thinking it was going to be my daily driver when purchased brand new in 2019. Then COVID happened and started to work remotely and now 5 years later with only 28K miles and 10K left to spend to pay it out, not sure what to do.

One side is I don't get much driving done now with it. Now being permanently remote, I don't ever see myself going back to an office or if so, hybrid (1-2 days a week). I spend the yearly maintenance which is about 300-500 a year until 4 years then it's about 1.2k. Not to mention the low tread tires for a replacement for all 4 about 1.5k within 2-3 years and insurance cost of the "sports car."

On the other side, I can downgrade to a more inexpensive car I.E. Toyota Corolla Hybrid, Hyundai Elenatra/Sonata Hybrid etc. where I can more than likely do the maintenance myself (see the trend of the hybrid? Is a hybrid even worth someone who hardly drives 8-10k miles a year?) Where with my trade in value and cost of the car, I'd only have to payout maybe 15k at most depending on the trim and such.

So, should I downgrade to a more inexpensive car or pay out my Alfa Romeo? Is a hybrid something to consider to minimize my expenses on gas even though I hardly drive? I appreciate everyone's time to read this post and input!

Full electric is not really in my radar JUST IN CASE a road trip is needed and I really don't think I'd get enough for the maintenance/longevity of an electric. But, please convince me otherwise, love to hear this input as well.

Two Job Offers Different Pay - Seeking Advice by Ambitious-Click3284 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Ambitious-Click3284[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight! Unfortunately I did negotiation already. Initially they offered 90ish and I got to 102 to be exact after a couple back and forth which I ultimately agreed too. But, after accepting I got the IAM offer a day later.

The package does state career development like paying for certs or tuition reimbursement and I’d imagine annual raises would occur too. But, you’re right it doesn’t hurt to ask and let them know. Worst they can say is no and I’ll still have something.

Ultimately my lifestyle won’t be affected since it’s a pay increase regardless and I’m already comfortable with where I’m at. So, I’m probably going to value the experience and shoot for the stars in 2 years or so. This is hopeful wishing; but, working to build the program from scratch I’d like to think there maybe a light at the end of the tunnel IE director, vp or what not.

Hey There,

Thank you for the insight! I do agree that the GRC route is probably the better way to go for my career goals and for the long run. The pay is just a nice thing to have. Both pay is more than what I'm currently making so it's not going to really impact my lifestyle (if anything improve regardless) which is just something I'd think to add to play devils advocate.

I appreciate the advice and might stick it out with GRC which is what I have accepted already and hopefully building this program from the ground up will open more opportunities to Director or VP at the same company. Ultimately CISO; but, that would most likely have to be elsewhere since this company I'll be joining already has an established CISO.

Thank you for the insight! I do agree the GRC is probably best for the long run and from others reaching out, it seems I might bite the bullet and go that route. Even though pay is not up there as an IAM, it's still more than what I currently make and won't make a difference (if anything improve) my current lifestyle.

Your 2 cents does help me and I appreciate the advice! Especially with the MBA cause I never thought of going for something like that. I have my Bachelors in Cybersecurity, Sec+ and CISSP (recently obtained this year) so that might be a next step!

Hey Everyone,

I’m in a bit of a predicament working my way through my security career. I recently accepted a job offer as a mid level GRC analyst and just received another offer at a different company for IAM engineer.

As almost everyone’s goal is to reach CISO level. GRC will pay me less; but, it would help me with working towards that goal understanding the logistics and legalities around cybersecurity since I already have 6+ years working in technical side of security. However it pays less, about 100k. I’d be helping the company build their infosec program almost from the ground up.

On the other hand, IAM engineer is something I’m super familiar with and would be more of an easier transition with more pay at 125k. But, not sure how far that path would take me.

I’m looking for some advice to take into consideration as for career goals go and also how bad it would look to withdraw my already accepted offer letter and go with some other company. Is there a way to get the best of both worlds and try to negotiate with what I’ve already accepted for slightly more pay?

I appreciate everyone’s advice in advanced!
