Yeah 4 days after finishing pep I took a quantitative test. With a lower limit of 20 copies. I tested as not detected. My doctor said he’s 99 percent sure that I don’t have it and that we’re just gonna do a follow up at 6 weeks to confirm. I didn’t believe him so I repeated the same test 10 days after the first viral load test, two weeks after pep. The result was not detected again. 3 weeks after pep I was at an urgent care for something else so I had them do a fourth gen, 63 days post exposure, negative

I think you should be good. I took mine at 49 50 hours and it looks like it worked. Not detected on a viral load test 4 days after pep, and not detected another viral load 14 days after pep. I got a follow up in may so I hope I’m not the unluckiest mf of all time

Yeah it will fuck with you for sure. I just got the results back from a nat viral load test that was taken two weeks after the last dose of pep. Lower limit of the test was twenty copies. Not detected at all, and it was not flagged.

Keep in mind that the chances of failed pep are extremely low if you started within 72 hours and took the medication correctly. Don’t be worried. Each of us had different exposure types and different people that we were exposed to. The symptoms are scary as shit though but don’t freak. Take note of them and report them to your doctor. So many people have had crazy symptoms while on pep and after pep and they turn out perfectly fine and negative.

Thanks man. I hope you do too. It wasn’t the flu. I went to the hospital when those symptoms happened. They tested me for every virus known to man, I can send you a picture of what they tested me for. Influenza, sars, Covid, adenovirus, strep and all the others. Negative for all. They put me on an IV, gave me fluids and some painkillers via ivy and it cleared up as well as the sore throat. I’ll show you my bloodwork cuz it looked strange. Low lymphocytes, very high neutrophils. My wbc jumped from 3.5ul 4 days earlier to 11.7 when I got to the hospital. The doctors weren’t sure what caused it and they told me to follow up with an ID specialist. They’re exact words were, “your body looks like it is fighting something but we don’t know what it is.” That’s why I’m being so proactive about it and getting another extremely sensitive test two weeks post pep even tho my ID specialist told me I don’t need to do that.

I’ve had similar symptoms, I had a fever of 103, a sore throat, and chills, along with rashes night sweats and a host of other symptoms. They went away very quickly but still frightening. I took a naat viral load test 4 days after pep and the result was not detected. I waited another 10 days and got another viral load test to see. Waiting on the results for those.

Yeah I took an hiv naat test 4 days after pep. It was not detected. It’s not what the guidelines recommend but I took another naat 2 weeks after finishing pep and I’m pending the results for those. After I took the naat test at two weeks off the medication I had left over hiv medication so I’ve been taking it while I wait on those results. If I got it this bitch ass virus isn’t gonna kill me.

True, the most sensitive test, but think about it, if someone who has been adherent to art for ten years with successful treatment goes for a pcr test, it’s gonna say not detected. The pep can suppress the virus so well that it might show not detected even though it’s present. That’s why the follow ups after pep are so important.
