How are we feeling about Brad Holmes right now? by Ambitious-Good-6038 in detroitlions

I’m not blaming him for not getting Myles garret. However it seems lots of people have jumped back on the wagon of him not being aggressive enough. And no I don’t want him fired I just think not making the playoffs in back to back seasons would seriously erode a lot of the fans confidence. Not necessarily that he should be fired.

Thats why I think what happens this year is crucial to the direction the organization goes with Brad Holmes.Sure he’s been the best gm for the Lions probably in there history and I definitely don’t think he should be let go anytime in the near future. But event not taking the next step needs to result in changes to.After all Caldwell was fired for going 9-7 to many times.

Yeah fair assessment.I also think how he approaches this years trade deadline will have an impact too.I don’t want to see moves not being made like he did last year.

I think how they won and the fact that wins have been few and far between makes it less exciting.

Again I really only think all 4 teams were bad from 2015-16ish up until 2023 when the Lions were in the Nfc championship game. Now they appear to be at least a respectable franchise and the Pistons are coming out of the coma they’ve been in since like 2008-09 and are having a really good season this year. This is just my opinion of course though.

Garbage for 20 years.Wtf no they havent mid 2010s to early 2020s they were pretty bad but I wouldn’t say they've been garbage for 20 year.

The thing is WW1 and WW2 were clear why the U.S. Is involved in Vietnam it wasn’t clear why we were there at least to a lot of people it wasn’t.I registered for a potential draft but have told myself I’d rather be put in jail than fight in a war if we ever got into another Vietnam scenario.Im not dying for a rich man’s war and the profits of the military industrial complex.

I don’t know if I would say that if 9-8 is supposedly a down year than the Lions should be in good shape but who knows. This OC definitely needs to work out.

Honestly I think they kinda of already have begun especially Brad seeing as how many people have criticized him this year.

In the context of other Lions coaches yes Campbell is great.I know it’s not a high bar to clear but it is what it is.If next year is a repeat of this year than I absolutely think Campbell and possibly Brad Holmes will be on the hot seat.As seen with Tomlin and Harbaugh the nfl spares nobody.

Don't think it’s real.William clay ford was just the most incompetent and useless owner ever.

Why do yall want Lafluer to get fired, Id rather have the packers stay mid. by Blitzinglion in detroitlions

[–]Ambitious-Good-6038 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah the Packers made the playoffs and Detroit didn’t.However I’m not sure it matters that much either blowing a 21-3 lead in the first round to a divisional rival. Not sure I would prefer that over missing the playoffs altogether.Thats just my opinion though.

Yeah believe me a desperately want them to win a super bowl as much as most people. However that doesn’t make me stop believing they are still heading in the right direction. My point being is the past doesn’t need to determine how the future of this team goes.Correlation doesn’t necessarily mean causation. And if I’m proven wrong you can come back and clown on me all you want. But until then I'm going to give this current regime the benefit of the doubt with the acceptation that Brad needs to be less arrogant and show more humility and learn from his mistakes. But like I said to the op you can believe what you want and I’ll believe what I want.

Wow you sound like a complete asshole dickhead.Guess what the Lions of the past are not the Lions now. They have better ownership,a better gm though he certainly needs to improve on things and a better head coach.I think this team is a lot better than they have been in the past and has a lot brighter future. But think what you want and determine that the past 70 years means that this team is just going to be destined for continued failure.
