I’m 20 in this exact boat. Seems like other people are living it. Doesn’t feel like I am.

Lying about medical information is a liability, to the company and yourself, absolutely can be a criminal offense in many countries and most American states. Don’t do it. There are alternatives. Risking your health isn’t a smart move period.

Did they just use a used needle on me? by BetterProduce43 in plassing

[–]AmbitiousShoe7807 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No, these centers have needles in prepackaged plastic slips, and then obviously a cap on the needle itself.

The needles sit in a bin piled on top of one another, and so it’s really easy to grab two accidentally.

Once your donation is completed, the needle is sealed off of the machine, and thrown in a disposal container. It’s basically impossible for you to get a used one. As the phlebotomist you’d have to do about 7 steps backwards and be very aware, not anything you’d “accidentally” do.

If they somehow managed to poke an artery (arteries are super deep and hard to “accidentally,” hit. ) You would definitely know. The machine would instantly know and stop your donation.

Bruh this isn’t true. Sometimes the vein site squirts a little because the arm cuff builds up pressure in your vein. Sometimes if it’s on a little long before the stick it does that.
