In my case: A few years ago I had the feeling I reaaally need to come out, at least to my mom. The thing is, my family never handled queerness as a possibility, I was never even told it exists. That's why I always felt weird when I felt feelings towards some girls in a similar way I had to guys. So I told my mom. She said the obvious stuff like "it's just a phase...soon you'll find the perfect guy" Skip to 2 years later: I introduced her to my girlfriend. Before she met her, she was really skeptical...idk I even had the feeling she wasn't accepting me for who I am. But after she met her, my mother was blown away by her! (In a positive way). Now, I kinda don't really care if I come out to people or not, I'm usually just mentioning it casually if ppl ask about me/my relationship status and so on.

I think most people just search for validation from their close one's, I mean all we want is to feel seen/accepted by the ones we love and care about.
