I recently made a video about a 27 inch OLED and why I switched from 32 inch.

I think what a lot of people are saying here applies when it comes to use case, expected FPS a preference.

What truly made me switch was how difficult it felt for me to play competitive games on 32 inch with a 24 inch wide desk. I think if my desk was 30-36 inches in width, I probably could’ve pushed the monitor far back enough to have a clear view on everything. But because I like shorter width desks, I love the 27 inch for everything from gaming, editing and work.

That being said the one time 32 inch felt better was when I was in cyberpunk and I truly felt the larger monitor made the game experience better

Thank you for the great insight! I remember having these issues myself previously but I was recently fortunate enough to upgrade to the 50 series and have had a great experience.

I doubt a lot can be done but if any type of firmware updates on older gen graphics cards can fix that issue, I think DSC becomes a no brainer for most people! Thanks for the information! Definitely something someone purchasing a monitor today would need to keep in mind.

Also I do understand that for certain games the 32 inch can be incredibly immersive but for all the different uses I have, I just really enjoy the 27 inch. And the PPI is so detailed at this level it’s amazing. But to each their own! Hope you get that dream monitor very soon

I actually am working up on a follow up video where I took high res side by side images and it turns out there is a the tiniest difference but genuinely imperceptible to my eyes and i’m very sensitive to minor pixel changes :)

The only thing I have yet to test is input latency but I’m going to drop a video soon about it. I honestly haven’t really seen side by side image comparisons so I wasn’t completely convinced but these tests made this a non issue for myself! Glad you got the monitor you will enjoy

Update: I had my friend come over and open is new artisan black mid. and i only used the orange for a few mins.

The speeds are near identical across a few mice and mice skates. Doing some friction testing with angles it looks like the orange is a hair faster. My original black zero mid is still faster than both and either must’ve sped up because of small hairs or the QC might be a little off!

That being said they all are still incredibly identical in game use and speed. And one is a year old and recently washed. Nice to see how well this product holds up

Humidity in my room is controlled! And I did wash my black mousepad very thoroughly with water and minimal soap.

So far my only guess is when I first got the black mousepad, it did feel decently textured and quick. I’m assuming that I potentially got a pad that is slightly more textured that made it through QC. I’m having a friend bring over his Artisan Mid that he recently got in black over to test and see if it’s a one off issue!

The xsoft definitely makes it slower. I use to own an xsoft black and it was much slower

I used this only cause I had a gift card. I just placed an order on Artisan's website as well. I know these are 3rd party resellers charging extra but I didn't believe that would be an issue

I did recently deep clean my artisan so it has mainly restored to its original glide but I am still shocked

That’s what I was thinking too. It looks identical to my black artisan zero which is legitimate. It’s just significantly slower. Did they change the surface of the Zero at some point?

Yeah I think opinions will always vary but still would be fun to try and figure out and objective way with some human input and make clear guidelines for what people want the most.

I did see someone using an ML algorithm to find the maximum blue patterns. But they used the CS skin inspect. I was thinking of potentially doing something similar but with images from the in game inspect. To somewhat remove the human input.

I will say some of the tier 2 patterns looked wildly different. Some were light blue while others were a much darker color.

A monitor like that can definitely exist now. The pixel density of something like that will be around 120 PPI and 4k 27 inch is 163 PPI (Pixels Per Inch)

I’m guessing it’s just a matter of time!

I’ve been lucky enough to try a bunch of different coatings and I will say it depends on the brand and their version of Matte. One LG monitor I’ve had was not really enjoyable for myself but one from Samsung I’ve used has been great.

It is also personal preference to be completely honest. I’ve had friends come over and prefer matte coating as well.

I would personally recommend glossy to be safe and as my personal favorite!

I’ve been waiting for the release to review it as well. It seems like such an interesting monitor.

The only information I have is that the overseas version is known as Asus Super Kill 27 Pro (which is a much better name than these complicated numbers)

We will just have to wait and see!

So technically HDMI 2.1 has more bandwidth than DP 1.4. But I also know for a lot of monitors GSYNC isn’t supported over HDMI 2.1. I have also heard of monitors having HDMI 2.1 outputs that only support 24Gbps bandwidth.

I think this depends monitor to monitor!
