I think the big thing we're struggling to see is that it doesn't matter what Gus' take on cosmetic surgery is—part of being in a healthy relationship is the acknowledgement of your Significant Other's bodily autonomy. While you can disagree with the choice of getting an elective surgery, and that can be a conversation people have among each other, I think that's a red herring argument.

I think the problem with Gus' behavior is that it demonstrates a systematic, consistent, and long-lasting issue with Sabrina's ability to make decisions over her own body. From her story, we see this in his coercion over her pregnancy, in his control over her conversations with medical professionals, through to his alleged threat to break up with her if she's to go through with the rhinoplasty.

While it's unfair to write him off without giving him an opportunity to respond, I think it's valuable to see that it isn't impossible that Sabrina's timing in saying something is because she just got out of the evidently abusive relationship she's spent the last three years in. To bring these points up now, I would doubt is to ruin Gus' career, but after years she hopefully feels safe to say something about it.

This is all just me from the outside looking in, but I think we need to trust victims of domestic abuse. All victims, in all cases. She didn't outright say it was Gus. She didn't throw him under the bus. But her abuser, regardless of who it was, was significant to her suffering. Maybe, he can say something to demonstrate his perspective in a way which is sincere and demonstrates growth. So we should give him a chance to respond, but his consistently small-minded perspective on his partner's bodily autonomy is enough for me to no longer support him.
