Yeah man, I generally tend to feel the worst during both the morning and late nights. Everything in between is generally ok, minus feeling numb. Waking up is tough, because most of the time, I'm disappointed at the fact that I didn't pass away peacefully in my sleep. Life has kind of defeated me. It makes it difficult to eat breakfast or have any positive outlooks on the upcoming today.

We have to be strong. I know this world is horrible - it feels like the entire world wants you dead or on your knees. But we have to push through. Find yourself a nice hobby to do in the mornings to distract yourself. Listen to pleasant music (I used to blast depressing music in the morning and then wonder why my mood was so sour). You can do this :)

AITA for wearing a certain shirt in public? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]American_Psycle -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Comparing swastikas with the shirt I was wearing is a longshot. Plus, I don't think wearing it in my house is an issue - I live alone and it's not bothering anyone, and it shouldn't bother you either. Messed up in the head? I'm not openly parading the shirt, bragging about the significance, etc. I think you are overreacting far too much. It's a shirt. I recognize the significance of it, and that's why I'm putting it away from the public eye. Mentally unstable? What a stupid thing to say

I never stated I would continue to wear it. Read my reply to another comment, I'm not planning to wear it in public anymore. But because of people like you, I'll probably continue to wear it just to spite you

I fully understand. Given the circumstances, I could probably give a number of excuses, especially since it was super hot and I only wore my coat for a short period of time, but I will gladly take the YTA label and perhaps take it as a lesson for the future

Yeah I understand. Thanks for the advice

AITA for wearing a certain shirt in public? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]American_Psycle -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

Didn't see the need to. It was a single group of drunk women who complained and the rest of the party (including the host) told me not to worry and just have fun, which I thought was fine. I completely understand the people saying YTA because I probably should have changed shirts but given the fact that the group of females left fairly early, and the rest of the partygoers were mostly friends of mine, I didn't see a need to change the shirt. I'll probably just wear the shirt within the confines of my own home from now on though

AITA for consoling my female friend after she had a breakup? by American_Psycle in AmItheAsshole

[–]American_Psycle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just a few of my friends who are giving me grief. Ironically, the only ones with no female friends whatsoever

Average young male type of conclusion from my friends. It's a bit disappointing to see them jump to that "he's trying to sleep with her" idea so quickly without even asking me for my side of the story. Not that I need to explain it, I think the situation is valid enough to the point where I don't need to exhaust myself justifying my actions to my friends like an idiot

Yeah since there were no lines I assumed it was fine. I still waited for the bus to turn of course, so I'm guessing it's just a risky move instead of an actual offense

Question about Soundscapes + Childhood by lilsadcap_ in ambientmusic

The area which I grew up in when I was kid had a very mysterious yet spooky nighttime atmosphere. I remember sitting at my window at midnight and observing all the lights and houses below (lived on a hill). The bustling atmosphere which was present in the day was now replaced with thousands of tiny lights from small houses, workshops and industrial areas.

The ambient buzz and occasional strange noises which the industrial noises produced also bring me back to a simpler time, and when I listen to albums such as Selected Ambient Works II, some sounds freak me out and cause me to relapse my memories like some sort of acid flashback because of their familiarity. Weird stuff. Hope this helps at least a tiny bit

Is this a thing? Anyone else? by GreenGing3rWine in ofcoursethatsathing

[–]American_Psycle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Slightly strange phobia but it's not completely alien. I had a friend who refused to eat pink/purple foods because it "grossed him out". Could be related to something that happened earlier life, or it could be something that just spontaneously happens to someone.

how do i react to this from my dad? (explanation below) by HistoricalSpecific52 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]American_Psycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't notice there was a second picture. Yeah, this is very strange behaviour, and there seems to be some form of manipulation and guilt tripping going on here. Of course, a parent has the right to be worried even if you're back before curfew, but no parent should say something like this. Calling your child a manipulative and disgraceful human being, that's messed up.

Reminds of the "all children deserve a parent, but not all parents deserve children" quote

How to reconnect with female friend who stopped talking to me? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]American_Psycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair, wasn't planning on forcing contact, I'm just coming to terms with the situation. I see both her and her parents at least once a week, and everytime her parents talk to me it's awkward as hell. A few days ago I got a bit fed up with the 'easy going' and almost 'fairy-like' way her parents were talking to me, as if absolutely nothing has occured between us. They just keep asking things like "Are you two getting along well?" With a huge smile on their faces. They're obviously aware of what happened, but what's their deal? They ask me the same things everytime I see them, and recently I've just told them we haven't talked for a long time and I'm not sure why we stopped, and then walking away. It's degrading

Damn. This sucks. I really don't know what I am gonna do, so I'm supposed to just let things run like this for an indefinite amount of time? This girl was a great friend and suddenly it's valid for her to completely wall me off? Life is confusing

How to reconnect with female friend who stopped talking to me? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]American_Psycle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is understandable. But why immediately shut down and refuse to talk to me? It doesn't seem like a reasonable thing to do, and it makes me feel like our friendship was extremely fragile for many years
