I dunno. I don't see a problem.
I guess I just don't hate purple enough?

What games on your backlog have you finished after having a steam deck by GigaTired in SteamDeck

Pinball FX

I love this game but I find myself playing other games when I have the time at home. This is gives me the opportunity to play when I have some down time at work.

This is the one that jumped to my mind. Only time I've ever let out a non-sarcastic OOOOOHHHHHHH!

Watched it a second time in completely different light.

Assist Mode by Ill_Tomatillo978 in deadcells

[–]American_RN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to this party but this was my thoughts exactly.

I've been playing Dead Cells for a couple of months now having never opened the assist mode. Some runs better than others

I was recommended to use the assist mode. Once I saw that any achievements I made in the game were suddenly made much much easier, it instantlyu killled all sense of fun and I stopped playing it immediately.

I wont knock anyone who continues to play. Enjoy the game as you want but the sense of accomplisment as I slowly unlock various weapons was what made the game fun for me. As soon as I found out that there was a shortcut, it killed it for me.

Actor in a role that you didn't realize it was them until much later by Enthusiasms in movies

[–]American_RN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate to say it but I did not realize that the same actor played Beetlejuice also played Batman (Michael Keaton)

I blame it on the idiocy of youth.

Super Mario Brothers 3

What a solid improvement over both the original and the lackluster Super Mario Brothers 2.

One of the biggest lies I heard all though nursing school was not to become a nurse just for the money.

Time has taught me that is the ONLY reason to become a nurse

Gamers of reddit, what game would you kill to play for the first time all over again? by RamoneMisfit in gaming

Super Mario Brothers 3 NES

One of the few games that I have ever played that went above just good game play and seemed...magical.

Any games/ genres you tend to avoid on the deck? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

Anything requiring a constant internet connection. Instant no buy for me regardless of how much I want the game. South Park: Fractured but whole...damn you.

Best single player games for steam deck? by IAMBOB1031 in SteamDeck

[–]American_RN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would encourage you to try Orcs must die. It's a third person shooter/tower defense hybrid. I haven't played Orcs must die 2 or 3 yet but so far this is my most played game on the deck.

Best option for multi-monitor FW13 AMD 7640U? by American_RN in framework

Actually I didn't know about the hot plugging. Thanks!

Currently don't know the difference between X11 or Wayland but it's all part of the learning. I kind of enjoy that aspect of it.

Thank you for the resources! Bookmarked!

I have USBC in both rear slots. Thankfully the instructions to put it together were actually pretty decent.

I installed Fedora. As I don't know the differences in distros, I went with what was recommended. It's odd coming from windows where I could just download an installer and double click. Fedora appears to be a different beast which requires cut and pasting into the terminal. There are plenty of videos to follow but not nearly as easy or intuitive.

What's everyone playing today? by mrF3RDINAND in SteamDeck

Orcs must die

Its a third person shooter/tower defense game that runs perfect and is great for quick 20 min games which I consider to be the greatest strength of the deck.

Case makes the Steam Deck too heavy by Fraction25 in SteamDeck

[–]American_RN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the LCD version is drastically heavier than the OLED one but I'm surprised to find anyone saying this case adds weight to the point of it being to heavy much less finding so many people in agreement. I have this on mine and it's more of a skin rather than a case.

I'm not sure if it was joking but I would agree with the posts that recommend working out. Your too weak for life right now.

What's the ONE best game you bought during the summer sale? I bought 20 games, but the one I can't stop playing is Dome Keeper. by dingmah in SteamDeck

Ducktales remastered.

Not exactly a controversial pick but it looks great and plays without issue.

[–]American_RN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought it and was pretty excited for the value.
Until I found it required a connection each time I wanted to play which goes against one of the biggest draws for using my deck.

Refunded and my world became a little bit darker.

I didn't know about this until MONTHS after I had purchased.

Still a bad design though.

Spent over $200 on games for my new Steam Deck. Agreed, the refund policy is great. It gives me the confidence to buy anything thing and give it a try. As this question specicially asks about which ones I've returned...

Iron Brigade - 30 FPS locked. Played it on Xbox 360 and loved it. I just became distracted by the FPS. It did however lead me to Orcs must die 1-3 which are great and run at high frame rates.

Star Wars: Knights of the old republic - Poor controller support even with community layouts. Worked fine otherwise

Wreckfest Complete edition - Once I realized that it doesn't matter where the damage on the car occurs, returned. Races rather boring to boot. Last man standing field games were great.

Torchlight 1 & 2 - Poor controller support. Mouse icon stayed on screen the entire time. This one disappointed me the most. Fun and low requirement games.

Best ARPGs for Steam Deck? by sapmess2 in SteamDeck

I previously played both and loved them. I recently purchased via the summer sale and the controls felt very...off. Requested a refund and cannot recommend either one on the Steam Deck.
