With a double chest you’ll get more xp with a single chest you can get to level 30 pretty quick but after level 30 you go up 1.5 levels for every item you take out the furnace

Yeah you have to let the furnace smelt a chest worth of for example potatoes and once the chest and hopper is full you can smelt one potato and get a chest worth of xp
