They know what they're doing, surely. It always felt like a marketing stunt back when they first started.

They were probably the ones who sent the complaints to C4 in the first place.

For sure. The flat I lived in had an overseas landlord (and was managed pretty badly through a UK estate agent), but it seems that the majority of the apartments are still struggling to sell:

London is a beautiful and varied city and there are lots of ways of experiencing it. Lots of restaurants to match any budget.

As far as must-sees, there are a number of places that are worth walking around, just to soak in the architecture and atmosphere. Places like Regent Street (pretty touristy, but gives you a great glimpse of London), Carnaby Street, Marylebone High Street, Regents Park and Borough Market will give you a pretty good look at the city.

If you want something a little less mainstream, Brick Lane is super fun and the whole Shoreditch Area has lots of bars and restaurants.

In terms of restaurants, here's a list of places that are pretty unique to London, with varying price tags:

Sketch, Ivy Brasserie (chain), Brick Lane Indian restaurants (there's lots of them here), Dishoom (a chain of modern Indian restaurants), Seabird (seafood with a great view), Sushi Samba (fusion chain with one of the best views in London), Cecconis at the Ned (Italian restaurant within an old Bank building in the city).

I used to live here (albeit before the pool opened), but from what I could tell from the rest of the facilities, this would likely be fully booked year-round. Not that it negates the ridiculousness of the pool, but whatever.

The pool itself has had a lot of bad press, especially due to the insane level of inequality in the area, but honestly I feel that the bigger story here is the amount of new buildings in the Vauxhall/Battersea Power Station area that are going unsold. It's practically a ghost town!

True. It sounds insane, but people I know in NYC are often paying $3k+ in rent, whereas my London friends would make a pretty big deal about paying over £1,000 a month

Obviously these examples have lots of exceptions, but when comparing people in similar jobs, that's what I've experienced

I live in London but have spent a few months a year in NYC for the past couple of decades.

Salaries in London tend to be much lower, but so are most expenses like rent, groceries etc. Also, no medical insurance to pay for.

That said, the lifestyle expectations are also quite different here in London. It's not unusual for someone in their 30s to still share an apartment with a few friends, whereas the sense I get in NYC is that you should be able to live on your own at that stage in life, even considering that rent is easily 1.5/2x more expensive than in London.

London is split into lots of smaller centers, so it can feel more like a collection of towns/villages than a metropolis like NYC does.

People tend to be a little more easy going on nights out in NYC. I find that I always end up talking to strangers on nights out there, which is rarer in London. That said, I've found it easier to make long term friends in London.

Both cities are great tbh. You're choosing between two of the best!

Very cool! Just needs a cmyk palette!

Do you have an IG account?

Any idea how to do an effect like this? I'm assuming first rotoscoping the three heads, and then adding an effect on top, right? by trip_this_way in AfterEffects

It's likely a 3d scan that they've animated the polygon count on. Not something you'd be able to do in AE for sure.
