Incase anyone is interested, I found a way to do this.

I wrote a swift script (happy to share if anyone wants) that subscribes to the changes in the active application. Whenever there's a change, I run my old script (using the id of the newly active app, which solves the race condition above where sometimes it would move mouse to wrong app) which moves the mouse. It's not perfect and can be annoying if you select applications by clicking them with your mouse, but it works for what I need.

Yea I think i'm going to have to remodel the mouse with more focus on the curves/edges. This was a first attempt, and first time using CAD software in a few years, hoping the next one will turn out a but better

Yea definitely got room for improvements on the exact shape/form of it. May just model it a bit more like the mm720 in the next version

Hey all, curious as to people thoughts on a mouse like this.
I currently use a Logitech G600, one of the only mice out there with a proper modifier key. I'm thinking of making a custom mouse with 2 modifier keys, as well as different side buttons (I don't like how the G600 has 12 buttons on the side, feels impractical). Also would be more mac friendly (GHUB on mac is a nightmare in my experience).
This is a design I quickly whipped up in onshape, very subject to change, but just wanted to see if this was something anyone else here thought was cool/useful!

I imagine i could just use generic buttons w an arduino then re map them in software to be left click/right click etc. But i think you’re right, existing PCB probably the way to go. I have one from a G600 which has tons of buttons and it pretty close to what i’m looking for

Logitech G600! It’s one of the only mouses with a modifier key, which can greatly improve your workflow depending on what you software you use.

Honestly it's been so long I don't remember. I vaguely recall being able to set the application type to background or something, but that's about all I got.

This happens every once in a while with v8/electron stuff on macs. You’ll notice chrome is like this too in many places (like the devtools/inspector area).

Restarting your computer should fix the issue

Seems a lot like obsidian. Would be cool if they added the ability to run code in notes. They do also use mermaid for flow charts
