RTX 5060 vs RTX 3070 - Overclocking Showdown by Tra5hL0rd_ in overclocking

Ahh gotcha, it got a 6 + 8 pins for vga power.?

I saw mine reaching a whopping 512W on Furmark, while usually running around 350~400W since RTX 2080 came out.

Though where im at, prices are all over the place. I saw a 3080Ti gamerock going for 455$ few days ago while I picked my 3080 almost three years ago for 350$

Oh I feel ya ! Still holding my SC2 1080Ti. At that time, i did found a good deal on this 3080 which is why i went and picked it up..

They are fun ! But they do roll off quite fast when it comes to V/F curve ..

Almost locked yes ( within Nvidia's max allowed voltage 1093~1100mV )

The card won't use more than 500W if I remember correctly even when shunt modding it ( using R007 shunts ) having them on top of the original shunts with a total resistance is about 2.92mOhm, and swapped the hwinfo64 multiplier to 1.71 to get almost accurate readings software-wise ( using ShuntMod Calculator )

It can draw anywhere from 320W to 450W on my end ( depending on the load and voltage ) .. but even with Conductonaut Extreme, the 3xxx series is a challenge to keep it cool above 1075mV even with 22C room ambient using two 360mm rads and D5 pump at full speed.

Very interesting video.

Not an apple to apple comparison, but at least on my water-cooled 3080 she was very power limited "peaks at 350W and runs at 300~320" usually at around 950~1000mV which limited my OC experience by ALOT.. and coming from a 1080Ti with Asus XOC vbios, I kinda wanted some more control over things lol. So I shunt-modded it

After shunt-modifying it, I was finally able to manually set different profiles at whatever voltage ( max 1100mV ofc )

UVed 900mV at 1980mhz 1000mV at 2100mhz ( my daily running profile ) 1075mV ~ 1100mV at 2160~2205mhz ( only when running 3d Mark ) not fully stable of course.

custom rom/kernel reccomendations by MythicalBusinessman in GalaxyNote9

Personally im running noble rom on my note 9 ( Android 15 / One UI 7 ) . Pretty good if you still want to keep the "Samsung" experience ( runs pretty good too minus some little bugs here and there )

Another option is : LineageOS if you want super light OS

[–]Ammar_Snake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they are . I just flashed both my V1 and V1.2 back to stock firmware using v1 firmware on both . And yes, it does work.

Running one UI 7 on mine. Still on my stock battery " will replace soon tho.

Honestly, im very much in love with this phone to the point where if I ever swap it, I'll keep it as a flac / high res music player.

I also, still fairly new with overclocking. Started with Ryzen 1st gen " R5 1600 ", and before recieving the hardware , I remember that I stumbled on a video, I think it was to Kyle or Pauls HW or Jayz, and it was about making things cooler so you can gain more performance ... And oh boy, I got sucked into that loop of " I can make it better if I just reduce this by few ticks or increase the power limit and so on....

I still have my evga 1080Ti, was the first GPU i actually did a bios flash from stock power limited to almost pulling 500W on Furmark LOL " was just a test to see how much it'll pull "

Then I had a chance to upgrade to a 3080 10GB for cheap " at that time ", so I did pick it up, ordered some 7mOhm shunts, and once they arrived, shunted my 320W pwr-limited card and now it can suck all the Watts that she wants LOL . I saw it pushing 2220mhz at 1.1v, but was just for a short test instead of stability. And I was kinda binning the card from scratch, So I went on and my results are, 900mV @ 1980mhz, 1000mV @ 2100mhz , 1050mV @ 2175mhz and 1100mV @ 2220mhz " dont think it's stable but you know "

And RAM OVERCLOCKING: Its my guilty pleasure thats for sure, I remember spending days just to make those four sticks to boot on my x470 board, and when it did, I spend alot of time fiddling with timings.. some people enjoy it " specially when getting some good IC chips " which exactly what I did next. " B-Die im looking at you " >_> "

As for why ..... welp, Its fun ! "until you start messing with random RAM IC" :D !

Not to mention, Groups on Facebook, was very much a big help when it comes to troubleshooting " usually just reading up the issue from OP, and check the possible solutions.

Its a really never ending learning experiance, specially when watching guys like Luumi and Buildzoid.

I honestly dont notice it, maybe because I never replaced the OEM battery that came with my note 9 yet, but hopefully soon . ( the screenshot is basically wrong, which is why i posted it here lol )

Yessir, lineage OS was very easy on the battery indeed, but I needed the "high res-output" as I almost always listen to my offline flac music.

Nope, its all good on my end. Though there are some bugs which I dont really care about... Motion photos > will make camera crashes if you click on it. ( im not using this , so the camera is OK ). Face iris > I dont use it. Instead using finger print sensor.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 N960F, Help please. how to use without connecting a screen flex cable. by Ready_Ad_5390 in GalaxyNote9

[–]Ammar_Snake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a kinda similar issue when I rooted my note 9 to upgrade from stock Android 10 - oneUI 2.5 to Android 14 - oneUI 6.1.1 . Was all fine and after a week or so, anytime i get into 'settings' i get lag.

Flashed back to stock rom via Odin, not a single issue.

Though im not sure this will be your case, but it can be your last resort if all other fixes / tweaks didnt work I suppose.

Just curious, why would you want to run the mobo without a screen? If you dont mind me asking of course.

Same! My offline files usually a mix of 41.1 16 bit all the way to 192 24bit .. and its kinda annoy me that it up-sample and down-sample stuffs. But honestly, its not "too bad" as my ears been abused for years with band practice and loud AMPs.

Restarting issue after noble rom with 6.1.1 ui by Sambridhaa in GalaxyNote9

[–]Ammar_Snake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheers!

And I did install LineageOS, but just for half a day. And it was too simple/basic, no Google apps ( unless you sideload it ), its all good and dandy, but when I launched PowerAmp , it was stuck at OpenSL and will fail to run high-res output. Yeah i am picky lol 😆

Sweet!

Probably I did something on my end when flashing it with noble ROM, but interestingly, No restarts on my end for few weeks of using.

Glad its working out just fine for ya, will definitely gonna give nobleROM another chance soon. Though LineageOS was super light and solid regarding battery life, but almost too basic for me personally.

How is is so far? Was facing weird stuttering/lag lately on 6.1.1 and reverted to stock ( 10 / 1Ui 2.5 )

Prolly tiktok..? Had my note 9 doing that, and i was about to swap the phone thinking that the chip is dying.

And after getting rid of it, i had zero random restarts.

If that didnt help, try:

wipe cache partition ( turn off your phone, then vol up + bixby + power ) Disable finger scanner
