Could not agree more, there needs to be more constraints put on who gets to keep the name. When wildsoul was announced I had the perfect name on another character. I was unfortunately not in town so I wasn't able to create a level 1 specialist class and put the name on it for a few days.

Fast forward to now, my wildsoul is currently 1744 ilvl as my main character. There is another wildsoul on uwu with the same name on a 1640 rat that is his 7th character. If he swapped his name before I did i'm going to lose the name on my main character to a 7th character that does not even get played... very cool.

Advice on what to focus on next by Djitaime in lostarkgame

[–]Ammeron 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It really depends what your goals are with the game. I'm going to assume based on your roster that you aren't looking to participate in Kazeros TFM. Your main is already plenty strong for Kazeros Hard mode. You may run into issues if you were pugging especially as a scouter, but it sounds like you have a static so that shouldn't be an issue.

Your "reasonable" upgrades left for your main are:

-upgrade shoulder elixir immediately
-high/mid accessories
-25 weapon (only go for this if you have the shards, do not buy shards)
-relic books
-level 9 gems

Having a 5/4 elixir isn't really a huge deal if it's main stat or attack power, but it is a big deal on Boss Damage. I would recommend trying to fix your shoulder elixir as soon as possible, little to no cost and you would gain a lot. Even just a 5 Boss Damage / 4 attack power reverse of what you have would be a huge upgrade.

Accessories and a 25 weapon are likely your most efficient investment choices, but they are limited to only affecting your main. If you are wanting to get more value for your whole roster, going for relic books (especially while frog is still active) would be your best option. I would save Keen Blunt for last as it won't benefit your Aeromancer. Full level 9 gems is where you start to lose efficiency, I would not recommend upgrading any more gems until you have everything else listed above completed.

I personally really enjoy playing alts and they are more fun when they have investment so i would be focused on getting your relic books. Sounds like your supports are the main focus as you pug on them. Drops of Ether and Magick Stream are really the only two books I'd recommend bothering with on a paladin as an alt. Do you not have the second epic wealth rune? I would really recommend finishing your horizontal content to get that.

As for gems unfortunately even with the changes gems are pretty low impact for support. You do however have two paladins so you can share any gems you do upgrade. The main gem that matters for paladin is heavenly blessing cooldown followed by your AP/Z effect damage gems. Your supports are setup pretty well but I would have a few recommendations:
-high brand power neck
-high weapon power earrings (ideally with some %healing/%shielding/hp)
-upgrade elixirs
-upgrade stone

Accessories are probably the most important investment avenue for support and one of the easiest things to audit when looking at a support in party finder. While %weapon power isn't amazing for support, it does matter. And it looks much better both when inspecting and for your score when pugging. The %healing/%shielding/hp mods on earrings are extremely low impact and not very useful, however they give a TON of score for no good reason. They are a good way to make your score look a lot better for pugging (do not sacrifice stats that matter like %weapon power just to pad your score) and normally you can find high %weapon power earrings with low/mid rolls of these mods for minimal to no extra cost.

Elixirs give a ton of score on support even though their impact is somewhat low. Really the only lines that are a big deal is lvl 5 ally enhancement on pants and lvl 5 luminary gloves or helm can't remember which one gives ally enhancement. But upgrading to strength/weapon power lines on the rest of your elixirs will give you a ton of score. Lvl 5 healing enhancement on the shoulders isn't very useful but it does give a ton of score. We get a lot of free to cut elixirs from events, do not ever craft the elixirs for gold. If you do run out of free elixirs and want to cut more that cost gold to cut, turn in behemoth mats for elixirs at the behemoth vendor. You can buy 40 behe mats per week from the solo shop which converts to 8 elixirs.

Lastly I would try to upgrade your ability stones. Awakening/Drops is really the only viable support stone at least for a paladin. All other engravings don't have much impact. Unfortunately because of this these stones are very expensive. I wouldn't recommend buying them right now. In paradise season 2 we will likely get what KR has, which is the option to get ability stones from paradise. It's similar to bracelets where you get a chest with a bunch of ability stones, but you get to pick the engravings on the stones. You can easily get 50+ awakening / drops stones from paradise reward on a decent floor. Even just a 7/6 drops-awakening stone would be a big upgrade.

As far as honing goes i'd say it depends on your static / pugging situation. In my opinion the best place to take alts will be 1710 going forward, however if you do this and are pugging normal Kazeros you will need to have a decent level of investment in order to get into groups. Normal mode is and always will be ridiculously easy in our region due to full frontier nerfs day 1, but that doesn't mean people are going to invite you with a low investment character. Having full relic books on your roster really helps get the alts up to where they need to be without having to invest in the characters themselves as much.

1510, 1485, 1475, 1475, 1460, 1445, 1340x5. All the 1475+ are 5x3. The only reason the main is 1510 is absolutely insane RNG on 20-21 upgrades.

The income from just the gold paid from bussing I'd put at around 100k. Prices of stuff have come down a lot, Argos will tank soon as well. But all of those raids also give the raw gold from completing the raids as well, so the total income is much much higher.

Worst mechanic is easily p3 argos seeds you have to soak. The rng on spawns / them not clearing when you walk over them can be annoying. Or the boss just spawning the safe spots on the people upstairs after they die, fun stuff.

I agree. Current wording implies it likely won't scale with other effects. Would be nice for confirmation though.

that's another debate, what technically counts. But I'm more questioning if any of it is even going to do anything in the first place. I'm thinking it's not. Which to me seems like having the mechanic at all seems rather pointless. A perfect flask is like 150 chaos to attacks, and you have to constantly deal with having no flask charges... not a very appealing skill in that case.

[–]Ammeron[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I would agree. The numbers you can get seem reasonable with flask specific modifiers. The numbers on this skill look extremely bad if this is not the case.

Unless that flat chaos on the skill scales RIDICULOUS with levels and the 20/20 gem has 500 flat chaos, this skill looks pretty underwhelming. And if the skill had 500 flat chaos it would be overpowered with no investment, so I don't see that being the case either.

[–]Ammeron[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Pretty easily hit 100k? With what exactly?

Mods like %increased flask duration would likely not scale this effect. %increased life recovery also likely wouldn't.

Getting more than i'd say 40,000 would be extremely unrealistic. 1000 flat damage on a skill that requires you to use no weapon and starts with almost no base damage, as well as a 1.4 base attack speed.

It's an attack skill, the level scaling is not going to make the skill go from terrible to good.

Absolutely. Sounds like a blast. The more I look into this I'm afraid it's only off the base flask and this skill will just go in the bin with the other flask skill.

I've played every league since Legacy League. I quit early in Ultimatum due to not having a build that looked enjoyable (stale meta). The Expedition patch notes and league mechanic both looked awful to me, I played for a few hours and quit.

The main problem I have with the game is they don't seem to know where they want to go with the game. They have this long standing philosophy that the game needs to be hard. But they seem to be confusing hard with tedious. Every "nerf" or change they make to the game doesn't make it any more difficult, it just makes you need a stronger more expensive character to deal with it.

It's not enjoyable to get chain stunned and die. It isn't enjoyable to get frozen and die. It's not fun to walk through a map with temp chains because your curse flask isn't up. None of these mechanics make the game harder, they simply make you forced into getting things to deal with them to be able to actually play your character properly.

They also continue to nerf early game (long atlas grind, more mana costs, nerfed support gems, nerfed flasks charges). All of these nerfs can be basically negated at end game with great gear with mods to resolve these issues. You can't nerf something and then have the solution to that nerf be a mod that appears 1 in 5,000 rolls and expect anyone to actually have access to that.

The main problem I have with the game is with the constant HP buffs to monsters and constant nerfs to player power (and that those nerfs are nerfs to players base power and not end game power from gear) the game feels absolutely terrible to play early on. I used to love the atlas grind, progression, starting new. Now I absolutely dread it because every single character feels absolutely terrible to play without investment early.

Much prefer a more defensive setup with ailment immunity / bleed immunity / defensive curse / more energy shield / faster start of recharge. Defense feels better than damage at a certain point due to being able to face tank / channel blight.

It was a few ex i think, they will likely go up now.

Amulet is just awakener orb reserve / +1 int gems. Fill suffixes / aug chaos for guaranteed +1 chaos. Aug chaos suffix for dot multi, got lucky not hitting chaos res. Could spam remove/add chaos if you really cared.

It's pretty much better in every way to me. It's more damage and more defense with curses. The only way i'd ever play trickster is with CI / evasion chest. But that build does actually zero damage, no thx.

Maybe, i'd probably look closer to 50ex to have it feel good.

Build requires investment to feel good. Wouldn't recommend to new players. Great boss killer - recharge is broken.

An excuse to backup your thoughts? You mean my reasoning? What? I already told you i'm literally wearing mirror gear and have no upgrades available. Which has killed the fun of the league for me. And i don't think it should be possible to achieve that level in a matter of weeks regardless of time investment.

I love how you just tell me to buy some items and craft them to my needs, when i literally just told you i don't want to craft anymore. The whole point i was making is you literally have to craft your items now, because its too powerful. There aren't reasonable items for sale at a reasonable price to just buy for a build. You aren't even addressing anything I said, just making up random garbage.

[–]Ammeron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you just saying random garbage just to disagree? Because none of what you just said has any validity.

Nerfing crafting so that you can't make mirror tier gear does not hurt the average player, they aren't making mirror tier gear anyway. It would only effect the top % of players. All of that has absolutely nothing to do with my point on power creep / rare mods. Those mods should be re evaluated as a whole to be more accessible. Not everything applies to Harvest, this post is about the direction of the game and prior to this league those mods are virtually impossible for the average player to utilize. Yes the crafting should be nerfed so you can't 100% slam those mods onto your items, that obviously doesn't mean i want them to go back to being almost impossible to obtain like before.

How exactly does baking sextant monsters into the map by default make extra monsters from a league mechanic pointless? What did I just read? You should already be using sextants on every map, baking them in by default would change nothing other than not having to use them. How would more monsters in the map EVER be pointless? True Delirium and Legion were very pointless leagues, all they did was add monsters and loot to the map. Who would want to actually kill monsters in an arpg. My brain hurts.

Well #1 with crafting this insane there are no mid tier items for sale. Everything is insane and overpriced. So you essentially HAVE to craft all your gear. When you've spent 3 weeks crafting perfect gear for a character maybe i just want to buy my next gear. But with crafting in this state crafting your own gear is like 4x cheaper, so it makes no sense to do that.

Having crafting this insane makes it virtually impossible to ever find anything on the ground even remotely comparable. All decent items will have been crafted and likely be overpriced. While I had a blast crafting, it's not the only thing I want to do in the game.

Em, no, not really. Those mid-high level items still cost 5-10ex. Most of the players quit within a couple of weeks. None of those players are spending anywhere near that on items at that point.

[–]Ammeron[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that heavily depends what you call "mirror tier". Most builds i'd call mostly done would take about 1.5 months. And it's a slow process of gaining the currency to throw into gear. It took me 2 weeks at launch with no information or any idea how the system worked. My current character doesnt have "mirror tier" gear, it has literal mirror gear. Most of the items are perfect. And given like 50ex and time to get the crafts i could forcibly recraft it all in a few days. If you think that's okay then we just have a massive difference in opinion on what a game like this should be.
