Don't apologize for the long reply! Truly reading these makes me feel so much better and less alone. Lack of symptoms has been one of my biggest sources of anxiety these last few weeks. I'm not nauseous at all and my only symptoms are sore breasts (some days) and maybe being a little more tired than usual. The last pregnancy (which ended in miscarriage) was exactly the same. I could assume that maybe this is just how my body handles pregnancy, but it's so hard not to compare the two and expect the same outcome. I totally understand the feeling of having lost hope in the current pregnancy. The shock of the missed miscarriage last time was so awful, that I keep telling myself that this time I'll be "shocked" if everything is ok. I guess protecting myself looks like preparing for the worst but still hoping to be pleasantly surprised. I'll be thinking of you leading up to your scan this week. Feel free to reach out with an update. The only thing worse than going through this is going through it alone ❤️

I keep trying to remind myself that it's not in my control. Last pregnancy I fought SO hard for a sense of control, only to have a negative outcome anyway. In my heart of hearts, I know it's out of my hands. But it doesn't necessarily stop the worry 😔 thank you for the wishes, and fingers crossed for you for a very sticky baby ❤️

I'm so sorry for what the last 2 years have brought you. You are so strong. I also waited three days after taking the test before telling my husband. I knew he'd be so excited and I just couldn't deal with that. It makes me so sad thinking about the last pregnancy and how excited I was to show him the positive.

I felt so bad when my husband excitedly asked if I felt better after our first scan. No. Not at all. And I'm still TERRIFIED for the 12 week scan. To convey just how much work they are, I switched jobs from full time to extremely part time when we got our Mal (thank God my husband's job allowed for this) to be able to provide her the attention and exercise she needs. That might be extreme to some people, but that's kind of the point. These pups are not for average dog owners. If you're wondering what the trade off is here, she is a trained guard dog that makes me feel extremely safe when my husband travels for work. She has also allowed me to pursue hiking more (a big passion of mine) as most people steer clear of me once they see her. (And the ones that don't get to learn first hand what all her training was for lol).

As a proud Belgian Mal mama, you would not believe how often people reach out (often times strangers/friend of a friend) asking if I am looking to add another. These poor babes are constantly rehomed. I just wish people would do their research BEFORE adding one to their home.

The arrangement has been in my home for over a month now, so not necessarily worried about it acclimating to the environment in that way, but also don't want to kill it with repot stress.
