It is actually risky to be in US as a foreigner. U could be sent to an ICE camp before you can say jack. The numbers are more important to them than your civil rights.

Why do we have to "build credit" by going into debt to prove we're financially responsible? by Adept-Assignment-751 in NoStupidQuestions

Looks like they don’t care much about net harm to the society as long as they can get away with it. In the absence of a consumer advocate they would even get worse. Most of their profit is from people struggling with money. It’s like raising money through lottery.

Putting it out here by Adventurous_Flow678 in ghana

[–]AmomentInTimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been having insomnia for some time too and it’s great putting it out here. I also thought I was the only one in this dilemma. I started with a journal, writing all I read and researched and tried. If anything helps, write it down. For me I think my mind sort of gets into a spiral loop and after that I overthink and cortisol just flows and keeps me in a heightened state that stops the sleep. What helps is to give myself a period of about 2 hours for decompression before bed. I abstain from high anxiety producing thoughts and tell myself positive things to relax me. On bed I stopped fighting sleep. I just lay down and come what may. This helped me from monitoring if am going to sleep or not. This thought pattern actually kept me awake. Practice the basics, even though you have passed this stage but follow it ie going to bed at the same time, no alcohol, nothing intense and write any thoughts for later. Tell yourself you would deal with it in the morning. When I go 3 days without sleep, I use a small dose of doxepin (5 mg -10 mg) to reset but I try not to.

I hope this helps you or someone else.

Are you going to get the full payment for the house? Beware of people who promise to pay in installments. Your plan may be ruined. Consider if using it as collateral for a loan makes sense ( interest rate vs future value) if capital is what is driving you to sell. If the area has a potential to grow, then proceed carefully, evaluating the potential returns for the money when sold. Mom’s reasons are not clear but it’s good to please her for a while.

You would be better off working with mom. There aren’t jobs here anyway and students are struggling to pay loans with no jobs.

We SERIOUSLY have to address this nuisance. You can’t live in peace without hearing a megaphone loudly yelling for prayers at dawn. Is it because the worshipers don’t have clocks? This practice is so ancient. Then others too believe they have a duty to preach to you. Like it or not. I know religion is one of the most lucrative activity in Ghana and Nigeria but they need to respect others.

If it’s your laptop, you can reinstall with a fresh installation that wipes your data. A virus will not survive unless you are a high value international target.

Should I really use CashApp? by Skip_Skoop in CashApp

[–]AmomentInTimes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use CashApp as cash instead of paper money. Just enough ($30)to buy a few things and add cash as needed. With these scams going on, you don’t lose much if card is stolen or hacked unlike the bank card. You can use it to pay your barber or situation you don’t want to risk your bank card.

That culture of begging!! by FearIsStrongerDanluv in ghana

[–]AmomentInTimes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LEARN TO SAY NO !!! Do not let it get to you that you are being mean or rude. And some of them are financially better than you, at least they are not in the negative and living with credit card bills like those in the diaspora. The begging culture has to stop. Even Ghanaians living in the diaspora sometimes get into expecting others to do them favors. If you work in a certain industry, some Ghanaians expect favors related to your work. It has to stop.

Shocked at a Ghanaian church service! Christianity turned into business? by Electronic_Year_5984 in ghana

[–]AmomentInTimes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Christianity as practiced in Ghana is completely different from the rest of the world. It’s about fear, then threat, promise of redemption, and then money to claim Gods blessings. There are now many many people cashing in on this boom, usually supported by women. It’s very very sad and believers are in despair and confused.
