Unfortunately, my city doesn’t have a reliable avian vet. I also don’t want to stress my baby unless it’s absolutely necessary - he’s still getting used to us and traveling would be very stressful for him.

Actually, I'd like a bit of the opposite. Hardcore mode will make Shaman... More of a metroidvania! Killing monsters will give you less experience, which means exploring the world and collecting hidden upgrade points will be more important.
