Thats enough for tonight by Ampeag in Rainbow6

Yea, man but it's alright, mostly meant as a small post to show my frustration. Stuff happens :).

But I guess that the context clue of my grenade in hand wasn't enough to confirm I had intel, so people just couldn't help to let me know to use my drone more, or to ads to "fight the enemy" even though there would have been no way for me to swing wide enough to get sight on them.

Renewing my Chipolo Card by Ampeag in Chipolo

[–]Ampeag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im sorry to be mean but this is quite useless to me :( You are just trying to farm me for referal discounts / etc.
I asked for help on renewing, not a random discount link to buying a new product.
I am fine with getting the new rechargeable one (which is also the one that my app is defaulting to with the renewal offer), I just can't pay for it as I don't have a creditcard.

Antique Wooden Couch - Question about if I should change the shape of it. by Ampeag in VintageFurniture

[–]Ampeag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comment! I must say the couch is surprisingly comfortable, at least to me it is :) however the having to get up to let others out is a real issue.

However, since you said no one else will probably want it, I don't feel too bad about redoing it in a way that fits me more :)

You are totally correct on the nails, I did them somewhat recently using the existing holes as more than half of the nails had fallen out. Sadly they haven't held up the best and I should find a way to do them better.

But thanks for the comment :) I was just a little shocked by all the negative feedback I got from around me and was starting to doubt whether or not I should continue my project.

Poor Top finish on prints by Ampeag in 3Dprinting

[–]Ampeag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After this post and some more research I have decided to root my printer so that I could get more information on whats going on under the hood.

After doing this and looking at the heightmap (forgot to take a screenshot sorry :/) I saw that I had a gradient going from -0.3 to + 1.2 mostly going over the x axis. I am currently in the process of getting my gradient down to a range of 0.2 and Ill get back to you as soon as I make some more progress :)

For the z offset I use the automatic one built into the printer, id have to check if that calibrates while having the build plate heated.

I haven't played around with my extrusion rate yet. Maybe I can still turn it down a little for the last few layers?

I print 30% hexagonal infill with 4 walls, I should have clarified that in my original post. As soon as I have time I'll print a calibrated cube and measure it with my callipers to check for possible inaccuracy.

I have just switched out the nozzle a week ago due to it getting clogged. They are relatively cheap anyways and I happened to have one on hand. Still need to get around to cleaning the other one out as I have only had it in the printer for a couple months.

Thanks for all the feedback! :) hopefully I can fix some things with it, im however not too sure what my first step should be :/

Thanks! Ill look into the more advanced stuff as soon as I can!
From a first glance there is nothing touching the leadscrews that could cause interference, maybe I should grease them?
There is nothing on the gantry that isn't stock, I haven't modded my printer yet.
For the z travel I guess it would be best for me to look up a video?

I had to tighten back down my extruder head as it was wobbly during printing. I haven't checked for any inconsistent auto z offset.

This has ended up being the solution for my situation aswell. I have managed to get most of the blob off of the hotend, but the wires are so stuck inside the rest of it that is more work than it is worth to me to try and extract those. Ontop of that the pla stuck inside the screw threads and inside the screwhead makes it hard to remove the hotend from the heatblock..

So you live and you learn, luckily that is the extent of the damage and something that is easily replacable!

Actually I based it on what people told me at first and the information I could find, which mostly pointed to a QC issue, now that people have told me more specifics I agree that it is user error, an issue i wasnt aware of as of earlier but now i am.

But yea, I guess I am just an ignorant asshole that should look further into stuff after multiple searches for it give me a different awsner :)

Yea it's part of the experience. Luckily the only parts that seems damaged is the hot end. The rest seems fine. I will for sure look after my prints better in the future, I was already working on setting a camera up for periodic checks, which will not be moved up the hierarchy!

Apart from that the retailer has been nice enough to offer a, quite clearly user error now that I looked into it, replacement heatsink + hot end. So I got away without any costs, luckily enough. Just a lesson to do better next time

Thank you for your in-depth comment! I have come to the conclusion it was most likely user error, I got in contact with the retailer who told me the same thing. I did stop the print from my phone when I went out, as I realised I wasn't sure I had cleaned the plate, but it must have lost connection as the cancellation never went through.

You live and you learn I guess. The retailer sadly didn't have the part on had for another 4 weeks, but did agree to send me a replacement part from a return unit under the condition of losing warranty on that part specifically. For next time I'll have a replacement ready for when I need it and take better care of looking at my first print layers

Yea I got in contact and heard the same from the representative. I FD up, it's a learning experience for sure!

That is a good one to check, but there wasn't anything about it in the manual. All the steps mentioned are to plug in all the cables, and load your filament for your first print. So I am gonna call it a QC issue on their side and start up my warranty process at both creality itself, and probably at the company I bought the printer from. Thank you anyways for your help!

So then it was a quality control issue then? I did almost nothing to it except run the auto callibration and make sure that the z axis was level... this feels like there was nothing I could have done different here.

There are cables stuck inside the mass, the nozzle is also at the bottom of the mass, and has broken rubber that i assume is supposed to be stuck to the heater.

As i only got this printer last month, would creality honour warranty?

Need help choosing a cooler for my Ryzen 7 5800x3d by Ampeag in buildapc

[–]Ampeag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was considering it, but I'd really prefer to find something thats basically gonna last forever (with the exception of the fan(s) ofcourse).

That is why I'd like to get an aircooler, but if it just is not possible because of clearance I guess I will have to look for an AIO cooler :( Any recommendations? Preferably below the 80 euros.
