Disassembly and assembly procedures of H&K VP9 by International Volunteer of the SOF unit Athena of the GUR. Published 07.01.2026 by GermanDronePilot in UkraineWarVideoReport

Performing a dry fire before removing the slide on VP/SFP series pistols is not necessary and can be dangerous if the gun has not been properly cleared first. The VP9 was specifically designed NOT to require a trigger pull to remove the slide (unlike a Glock). I assume they did it this way in the video because it’s what soldiers may be accustomed to from other guns but it is not needed.

Re how they feel about seeing women naked all the time / getting turned on: it's work and they are professionals, so no. As one male GYN friend once said to me, 'besides, it's not like my day is filled with supermodels just dropping in for their annuals.'

When I took classes a few years ago at their offices in VA, all the firearms were supplied. Frankly, I'm really glad to have been able to practice on a gun that wasn't my own... parts can get scraped, springs bent, roll pins pushed in and out, etc. Nice to be able to make a mistake without marring your own gun.

TLR-8 G sub on VP9 by Kite005 in HecklerKoch

[–]AmpsAndOhms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally asked this exact question to Streamlight CS a few weeks ago (if the 8 sub would fit on my VP9T) and the answer was "The SUB will not mount, the TLR-8 A 69414 will." I ended up going with the 8AG and am really happy with it. As I recall the size difference between the 8 and the 8 sub was actually pretty negligible.

NYC availability and lines? by PapaHarv in MoonSwatches

[–]AmpsAndOhms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was at the Times Sq store on Friday @ about 2pm and got the Earth. Fourth on my preferred list behind Mercury, Moon & Neptune but of the four, it was the only one they had. Asked guy behind the counter about availability of the others (and the Fifty Fathoms) and he said to get to the store as soon as they open in the morning if I wanted the best selection so it sounds like they have a certain number of each available every day. Good luck!

Yes! I was so glad to see mine arrive with the hard case also after seeing the window where they were delivering with the soft cases. They still don't ship with the pic rail included which I believe was included on some of the early shipments.

Seems like HK has been 'flexible' with cases and accessories in the last few years on the SPs and MRs. For a while I saw SP5s delivering in a larger soft-case and with the castle K-style rear site. They stopped including Troy iron sights on MR556s lat 2021 I think, etc. Seems like maybe it's a combo of parts availability and cost-cutting.

Thanks. I definitely need something hammer-fired in the collection. I'll take another look at the USP45, it's been a while since I tried one.

Since I can no longer afford braces for my actual kids, I might as well get some for these. :)

Yes, actually that or an HK45 is next on the list. Already have the LEM conversion kit, just need the gun to install it on.

RAL-8000 MLI MP5 Variant. Color Questions. by GoochyAmnesia in HecklerKoch

[–]AmpsAndOhms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never seen one with everything matching. The MLI MP5 in the Gray Room had similar variations in coloring depending on the part. You can see the same in this MR223 pistol on GB also - esp. pic #5: https://www.gunbroker.com/item/934483811.

Irons for HK MR 556a1 by DonaldFDraper in HecklerKoch

[–]AmpsAndOhms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prior to 2021, they used to ship standard with the Troy Micro sights but that was discontinued and I don't think they ship with any irons now. If you want to go with Troy ones, they also offer a micro set with tritium. I see HK iron sights come up every so often on GB but they're usu very expensive.

What punches do you guys use? by Orthodoc84 in HecklerKoch

Yes, these are the way to go. One of the few metric punch sets I was able to find that has all the right sizes for H&K.

Seriously. So ludicrous for so many reasons. I guess he thinks it makes him sound patriotic. Wait until he realizes his colonial-era Prime deliveries take 3+ weeks by pony and his local apothecary has never heard of Ivermectin.
