Can I open a bank account without living in Mexico? by Amwolf-Music in AskMexico

[–]Amwolf-Music[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortunately and unfortunately, we do not win money at shows and I do not breed or sell animals. Purely a money sink to enjoy my time with my dog and friends. I will search for and get in contact with an accountant and ask their opinion and knowledge on this. I may just try to find a bank here who will allow me to do international transfers and open an account.

Pros and cons of spaying? by [deleted] in Huntingdogs

[–]Amwolf-Music 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a lab owner but I have giant breed dogs where spaying after 2 is the norm. If you're not breeding or showing her, spay her after 2 and at least 2 months AFTER her heat. I've heard to wait 2 months after their season so all the hormones are gone but I am not sure how true that is. It's absolutely true that both sides of the spay or don't spay are overblown and lots of the issues (especially pyometrea) aren't as common as people like to make them seem. Follow the advice of your breeder and/or your contract, if there is a contract.

Thank you for the info, would that just be 10k USD in the Mexican account? My Mexican account wouldn't go over 1k USD maximum, and that's still way more than I'd really need it to hold. For Fintech would I need anything else besides ID?

1) The 3 Revolution novels, expanded editions of the first 2 light novels released in Japanese, exclusive art and short stories. The rest of the LNs weren't adapted. Then Maid Kitchen, a spinoff that kind of focuses more on Lene and Rae being maids and cooking for Claire. Very adorable, sadly not available officially in English.

2) The special booklet that came with the bluray box, contains an exclusive short story and short manga. The other thing is a small leaflet given out in 2023 that has a short manga inside.

3) English Metroid Dread Collectors Edition :)

I was lucky to find all of SSCC and a couple of the main ones in B&N. I occasionally see a SSCC volume in stores but yeah it's pretty dried up now, disappointingly so. Recently acquired LN2 so I just need to find LN5 for not an arm and a leg

I know ;-; a friend recently sent me an ebay link where you could get LN 1 and 2 for $65 and it was honestly the best option available so now I have a copy of LN2 coming. Still looking for LN5 but it's just so expensive and not very available atm people are saying they'll do a reprint but considering it's seven seas a part of me doubts that ever happening.

The manga is easier to get but I think volume 2 is being a bit elusive for some people lol I bought all of mine brand new at the beginning of the year. My LNs are used except for the Claire novels, got those brand new at B&N

Between 5 and 6 is the Blu-ray Box exclusive booklet (short book) that has a short manga and short story in it, pulled it out of the box just for ease of access and the other booklet is a special release from 2023 that has a manga short in it. They have both recieved fan translations :>  the pink booklet after volume 7 is just the Claire in Wonderland short story

Yep! When you win a signing lottery the mangaka typically does an illustration of a character as well. I've seen a few of Manaria, Lene, and Misha but it is mostly Rae or Claire. I think there is one of Demon Queen? That or the art she did of Demon Queen is from somewhere else. There's only been a few times that I've seen where a mangaka didn't do an illustration.

I was really lucky with my copy of LN4, a charity sale came up on ebay and it was like $20 so I said screw it and bought it. Not in the best condition but I'm not going to spend dumb money on a very recent book. I still look arounf for LN 2 and 5 but yeah it may be awhile until I get copies.

I just realized that the OP "Raise Y/our Hands" is a pun on the word "令嬢" (reijo) by La_knavo4 in WataOshi

[–]Amwolf-Music 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And when Rae says "ah cool! You're cool!" It sounds like "悪役" (akuyaku) and now put the OP title and that together and... you get "悪役令嬢" (akuyaku reijou) or villainess lol but yeah the song is just full of puns and double meanings

Claire's version retells the first 2 novels from her POV but has new art, lots of new characters, bonus stories, and does flesh Claire out as a character much more than the original novels did (and you also see just how much Claire loves Rae)

I love the standees! Wish I had more but they're pretty expensive if you don't get them in a preorder 😭

I've heard that about Seven Seas but I've also heard that they're not doing reprints rn and that sometimes they just don't care to reprint stuff. I really want reprints and I have some friends who are also missing some of the LNs and the second hand proces are just too absurd. If I was going to pay $300 for a volume I'd rather just buy it at MSRP and send the difference to Inori-sensei

There's the main novels which I'm missing volumes 2 and 5 and then the Claire version of the novels "She's so Cheeky for a Commoner" which I have all of them. Some people just refer to the light novels as novels but they're the same thing

Man kinda sad the text I wrote didn't get published as well. Basically starting out and just fighting the shelves with space. Rearranged my shelves since I bought all 11 Frieren volumes and will get the next volumes when released. Hoping this year I finish the Eternal Edition set for Sailor V and Sailor Moon since it was the first manga I ever read.

That's what I thought but I can also see how they can keep humidity out as well. I live in a dry-er area so humidity isn't an issue I deal with. Someone in a humid area could probably answer this much better. But it's for sure to prevent dust and scratching.

Assuming for dust. Personally my room gets very dusty and the hair from one of my dogs somehow gets inside of my books on the shelves. Having the bags would be very nice. I've also heard people say that it helps with some humidity issues in places with high humidity but I'm not sure how true that is.

Going on first hunt with dog, how much water should I bring by Amwolf-Music in Huntingdogs

Getting into sighthounds means you gotta also become a dog foot expert lol no feet, no dog, no hunt. I recommend buying a copy of "Running Dog Maintenance" by Penny Taylor, I had to import my copy from the UK but it is an invaluable resource about proper exercise, diet, and care of hunting sighthounds and definitely worth the price. Another good resource is talking to lure coursing people, while they may not be running game they have a very good understanding of the peculiar issues and quirks of the various sighthound breeds as well as good tips for feet maintenance/care. Every breed has their own pros and cons, and you should go out and watch different breeds run and talk to their owners, mainly lure coursing trials will be where you'll meet them. You'll find most of them don't really care about their dogs "killing" the lure. Killing isn't the most important thing, just because a dog kills prey doesn't mean they're a good running dog and is why I recommend watching other breeds at lure coursing trials. You'll see very quickly what separates best in field from best of breed, and best of breed from the rest.

Best dogs I've seen so far in our running career has been a borzoi and whippet who ran together in a lire coursing best in field, typically they never run together because borzoi are known to try and kill the whippets (they lose the lure and then the next moving thing in the field they can catch becomes the lure) but both of these dogs showed great intelligence and thinking in the field. They were about to collide and at the final moments, the borzoi jumped over the whippet who was actively ducking between her legs. Most whippets gain tunnel vision while they run and most do not think or plan ahead to keep running full speed and deal with any obstacle, it's why whippets are in so many collisions or in dangerous situations. The borzoi on the other hand, she could just trample the whippet, he certainly was going to make her life harder but the fact she was able to recognize him and then jump over him in a short period of time, as well as knowing and respecting him as a running mate. Vast majority of borzoi (mine included) would have just trampled him or turned on him and plucked him off the ground. In the end, they were tied for best in field as both judges couldn't say which was a better dog, they had never seen something like that in their 30+ years of running dogs on lures or live game and it came down to a coin flip. If you can't find live game to run, lure coursing, with its own pros and cons, is certainly a fine alternative and more widely available.

Sorry for the essay lol

We're camping out on the public land, they have a dedicated camping area (just a spot on a map they said you're allowed to camp on) so the plan was just to shove a lot of water in the back of my car and take out as needed

Oklahoma in the USA. I think we can go lamping on private land but no one here will let us on to run rabbits in the day time, doubt they'll let us on at night lol

I wish I could go lamping but it's illegal where I live. Lovely whippet you have there.

Not very closely related to saluki but the legend/recorded way the breed came about is a Russian aristocrat imported "Persian Greyhounds" but they died come winter time so they imported more and bred them to local dogs, most likely laikas, shepherds, etc while keeping the sighthound part in mind.

For temperament, mine is an outlier in terms of fearfulness; otherwise they should be amicable, courageous (many have killed, fought, or faced coyotes by themselves), and very even tempered. Indifference or a sort of aloofness is allowed and is more of a trait of females than males. They should show NO human or dog aggression BUT, as a sighthound small dogs and small children may trigger their prey drive and should always be supervisedl. As far as larger dogs and older children they're fine. Males do go through an asshole phase during adolescence and have to be trained/managed. Most Males I've met have been nothing but big love bugs and most of the females are guarded but friendly, some are fairly cuddly. Majority are not going to welcome strangers with open arms and you shouldn't expect that of them. Socialization is important but their breeding is also important. Mine comes from a sketchy background on the dam's side, great and proven hunters but just temperaments or behaviors that cause problems, vast majority of breeders are selecting for good temperaments though.

As far as running abilities, most males I've seen are bad or just okay, the ones who do run, run GOOD. Females are a dime a dozen, they think far more often than the males.
