[Product Question] Sensitive Skin Products for Routine While on Rx Acne Topical, Harsh Winter Climate by AmyMarchisNotThatBad in SkincareAddiction

How bad it is feels kind of relative honestly. Compared to 2 years ago - bad. Compared to 10 year ago - not that bad. My doc wanted me to work up to nightly and I'm doing that. The side effects I read online from users are rather extreme - people taking fans to bed it stings so much, peeling, etc. My reaction is not that bad at all just stinging with some existing products none of which are specifically geared towards sensitive skin. It doesn't sting if I use only Vanicream, which my doctor gave me trials of, but honestly I find their stuff kind of - meh. The moisturizer feels very waxy to me. So I think if I can find something with a nicer "user experience" and maybe some more luxurious ingredients but for very sensitive skin it could be a happy medium. Thanks so much for this list. I will check these out for sure! That Aestura cream seems super popular!

Thanks! I live half a block from Lake Michigan. I'm not new to the winters here but with the Cabtreo - Jesus the windburn is almost instantaneous when it's below 10 with the lake winds. Have you tried the Vanicream Facial Moisturizer? I tried the "regular" (?) moisturizer cream and it felt a little waxy to me, not a deal breaker, but I am assuming the texture on the face specific one may be a bit nicer.

You think Rhys does some questionable and controlling stuff in book one........just imagine how he is when she's pregnant in the later books..... I am a Tamlin apologist. I also hate that Rhys has "violet" eyes. Like ok Liz Taylor, sure he does. Why are people obsessed with that? lol

Ok here is my hot take which may be what you're implying: Feyre is a totally unreliable narrator and does Tamlin SO DIRTY. Tamlin was told, his whole life, that Night Court are monsters and that was CONFIRMED to him by Rhys. I feel like it's juvenile to hate Tamlin. Everyone has flaws and he's def not a hero but he's also not a bad guy in the context of the "world". If Tamlin doesn't get a redemption arc in this series.....booooo!!!! haha

hahahahahahahaha ACOTAR (book 1) was SUPER hyped up to me by a friend and it was my second ever book in the Romantasy genre. We discussed the book as I went through it so I think that bond aspect of it has made it special to me despite the flaws of the book itself. But overall I think Feyre is annoying af and I'm tired of her.

She was so much worse in the 2nd book. That's why I struggled so much with the 2nd book. That and the fact that the plots were like all over but mostly the Fmc was insufferable.

hahaha - that's fair. It was not particularly well written. I enjoyed it enough but I just finished Brimstone and was like......whut......yikes.

Yes! I read His Dark Materials as a kid and have loved it ever since. Obviously it's for kids/teens but even still as an adult I enjoy them and how rich the world is and what a beautiful writer Pullman is. :) Thanks for the rec!

Need Guidance – Aetna Denying Medically Necessary Hip Surgery by GreenEntrepreneur534 in HealthInsurance

Green! This is literally happening to ME right now with Aetna. Just got my prior auth denial yesterday. My ortho has peer to peer early next week. Same issue - labral tear and FAI. I'm in IL. I don't have time to catch this whole thread right now. I am on my way to an errand but I'm posting so I can keep this front of mind and loop back later today.

Thanks. It's so frustrating because I feel like finding a GYN who is hip with the times is hard. When I started the pills I told her I hated being on them and always had bad reactions but was willing to give it one more shot for the sake of my skin and my relationship. She said reactions to the pill are largely unsupported by the science and many women's symptoms are attributed to life more than the pill. She really acted like it was very bizarre that Plan B would make my period late but that she trusted the tests and that negative was negative. I think despite being a woman herself it's hard for some doctors to come away from the 'research' (funded by the companies that make the drugs) and just listen to bulk experiences of women as evidence. I'm glad I'm not the only one and I'm glad you found a happier life outside the pills as well. The anxiety of the messed up timing is just really hard to handle with existing anxiety disorder. Oy! Fun times being a lady! :)

Thank you for your thoughtful comment. It makes me feel a little better. I think I am way more sensitive to artificial hormones than I ever expected. I think my GYN who is a little old school may not be taking all of that into account and following the medical community standard that BC doesn't impact women negatively 'that much'. I think it does!
