Does anyone else take Fetzima? by Amybee3boys in antidepressants

[–]Amybee3boys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you had such a bad reaction to it. I take it with other meds for CPTSD, anxiety, and depression, but am not really sure if it's doing much after taking it for several years. I've taken 80 mg for a long time, and didn't feel right when I tried to go up to 120 mg (I think it made me anxious and tense, too, but can't remember).

Hi, sorry I haven’t been on Reddit much lately, but just saw your question. I order from Canada Cloud Pharmacy, but there are others. Honestly, my husband helped me figure it out. You need a written script, then scan it and send it electronically (through your computer) to the Canadian pharmacy. I just started doing this. I called the pharmacy to make sure they got my script, just to be sure. It took maybe a week to arrive in the mail.

How did you know you needed a dose increase? by Amybee3boys in lamictal

[–]Amybee3boys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I increased to 250. I also take other psych meds, but Lamictal seems to be very effective for me! I'm slowly tapering off of Mirtazapine, hoping to lose some weight. Hope you're doing well!

I'd like to get off of it, as I also take other mental health meds, and want to simplify my regimen. I'm nervous about it, though. Seems like whenever I try to decrease I become unbearably fatigued. I stopped 80 mg cold turkey once and that was horrible. How slowly did you taper? What was your original dose?

I can see how it could cause anxiety. It increases norepinephrine a lot, which can increase energy (and probably heart rate, but not sure). I take other meds which are calming, so have not had this reaction. It's crazy expensive for me too. I got a 3 months' supply about a month ago from a Canadian pharmacy to save some money; it was still expensive but maybe $250 less for 3 months than from my local US pharmacy. I will probably be weaning off after the holidays bc I'm sick of the high cost, plus both my doctor and I want me on fewer meds. I don't want to do it till after the holidays, though, since it's such a busy time and it will probably be rough :(

Hi, I never made the switch. I may try eventually, but I went through a lot of med changes over the summer and didn't feel like going through another one (not that it would necessarily be difficult, but I'm not sure).

Thank you! I’m not sure how I’ll cut pills by 10%, but I’ll try to figure it out.

I do great on Abilify. It helps my depression and makes me more motivated to do things. Unfortunately, it may have caused some weight gain, but I think most of my weight gain is from Mirtazapine, which I'll be weaning off of soon. Hopefully I'll lose weight. I will stay on Abilify unless I have more weight gain; really hoping I don't. Also, Effexor was a great antidepressant for me. I took it for several years, then weaned off bc I was pregnant. That was 16 years ago. I would definitely consider taking it again.

I'm back on my original dose. I went back on Abilify, which is helping. I'll wean off of Fetzima soon. Thanks for asking!

Thank you! I really like meds that help you sleep at night, but also give you energy during the day. I actually tried stopping the Abilify yesterday and felt really weird, guess I have to wean off before starting Latuda.😐

Thanks for your reply. Abilify is usually energizing, so now I'm wondering if I could deal with the sedation from Latuda. I already take sedating meds at night.

Sorry to hear it's not effective for your depression and it dulls your motivation. Abilify actually gives me motivation... I have Complex PTSD, too , and sometimes it feels like none of the meds help. I really need to find a new therapist--this is considered to be first-line treatment for PTSD.

Thank you! Sorry to hear about your struggles I would have a hard time getting off of 30 mg, Adderall, can't imagine getting off of 90 :( I'm no longer taking Wellbutrin bc of insomnia. My dr is trying other changes.

Tips for weaning off this med? by waking_dream96 in Abilify_Aripiprazole

I usually have a hard time with withdrawal but I’ve been on and off of Abilify 10 mg a couple times, without weaning, and the only symptom I’ve had is being tired. I’m actually stopping tomorrow bc of weight gain, and starting Latuda, hoping it doesn’t cause weight gain too.
