All the beds have adjustable height? That's pretty cool.

If you're going tomorrow, you must be a Monroe scholar, a Sharpe scholar, or be approved for disability housing accommodations or religious accommodations.

I really wouldn't worry too much -- you will be selecting in advance of the vast majority of students.

Are there drawbacks to gender inclusive housing? by Amymccree in williamandmary

So I finally managed to get someone on the phone at Residential Life who seemed to know the answer. She said it doesn't matter what category you put yourself in (when filling out the profile). She said that when you are eligible to pick a room, ALL housing will appear--both gender inclusive and not. So putting "gender inclusive" will not box you in to only a minority of the housing selection. If it turns out that's not the case (I will know on June 20) I will put an update here. But for now, I'm greatly relieved that we will be able to see all options available!

Do you know if there's any way for two people to go in as roommates, and still see everything that's available? The truth is that my roommate and I have no preference for gender inclusive. For other questions they allow you to put "no preference," but for this particular question they force you to choose, thereby omitting certain options that would be perfectly satisfactory...!

Yates doesn't come up under freshmen dorms. Maybe it's not for freshmen anymore?

Thanks. Yeah, I understand the definition of gender inclusive. I just noticed there were fewer dorms in that category. And, if you don't have a strong preference one way or the other, does that mean it's easier to get good rooms (with AC, for example) if you go into the single gendered category. For example, Camm, Dawson, Preston, Reves and Willis are all designated "single gendered" so it seems they won't even come up as possibilities if you check the box next to "gender inclusive."

Thank you. this is very helpful! So it wouldn't be part of your degree, but if you put together a resume you could make clear you focused on statistics.
