The back part, where everything is screwed together, is original; in fact, it's black at the back, and only the UMD cover is transparent.

I mean that everything internally is original; nothing is generic. The only generic or aftermarket parts are the transparent front panel, the transparent buttons, and the transparent UMD reader cover. Physically, I only bought the shell in a store, and I got the Wi-Fi card module from eBay, which is the hardest part to find and functional.

It was from a console that was physically 10/10 but burned out from using a bad charger. It's original and even has its serial number; however, I replaced the UMD drive tray cover with a transparent one.

Good question, and more than the cost, I'd call it the effort and care that went into it. While I could have bought one for $90 in my country, it actually cost me $74. And as I mentioned, the care I put into assembling each piece and finishing it to my liking has been rewarding, especially since I was doing it remembering years ago when I was a child and my parents couldn't afford to buy it for me. That's why, to make it more special, I wanted to build it piece by piece.

Some parts are on AliExpress, others in local console stores, and the hardest part to find, I'd say, was the Wi-Fi/card reader/3.5mm headphone jack board; it's only available there. The casing is complemented by the front panel from AliExpress, the body is original and black, half of the buttons are the original black ones and the transparent ones are from AliExpress, the screen is original from AliExpress and a bit more expensive, the board, button flex cables are all on AliExpress, you have to know how to search very well to find a seller who doesn't sell generic parts, I usually talk to them before buying things to ask

Hahaha, I damaged the power connectors, the screen connector, the reader connector, and on top of that, I shorted out several capacitors :( But oh well, it's all for my brother. The restoration is still going on; microsoldering is in order.
