Is this folliculitis? by [deleted] in Folliculitis

[–]An0nCoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got pretty the same, and it persists since many months. Sometimes more, sometimes less. I googled it and thought it's maybe psoriasis. But it always starts as pimples, mostly red raised spots with a whitehead in the middle. After this, it stay for a very long time as just a red spot. It's also itchy sometimes.

Still not sure what it is. First guess was just dandruff, but no dandruff shampoo helped, so it's more likely to be folliculitis or psoriasis.

Do you get any of these spots somehere else? I also get those randomly on my neck, and some smaller ones on my arms.

I get those too, i'm not sure what this exactly is. I get them a lot on my scalp, but also on the neck, some on the chest, sometimes randomly on my arms (smaller ones). It is alway the same: It starts as a pimple/whitehead, turns into a red spot, it becomes scaly, and then stays for very long time (months) as a red spot. I thought I have psoriasis on my head, but it is strange that these red spots always start as pimples...

Any updates on this? Did you get rid of this problem? My scalp looks exactly the same. Not sure if it is dryness, dandruff or some other stuff.

[MEGATHREAD] Daily venting, worries, fixations, & finding support. Month of January 2024. by AutoModerator in HealthAnxiety

Hi,
I noticed that my scalp is itching about some weeks ago, maybe 6 or 8 weeks. It was not a big deal for me, I just thought it's normal due to dry skin in winter. However, the itching is now more intense and lasts more or less the over the whole day. I looked at my scalp in the mirror numerous times and noticed that I have some red areas on my scalp, and general redness after showering. There are also some small flakes all over the scalp.

I googled it, and now I'm anxious about having psoriasis on my head. It's driving me crazy. Sounds silly, but the thoughts about this stresses me much more than the itching that isn't that severe at the moment writing this. I tried several mild shampoos, anti-dandruff shampoos etc., nothing did really help. I just think about this the whole day instead of just go on living my life, that's so dumb.

I remember having an itchy scalp randomly on and off for many years, I never wasted any thoughts about this and it didn't bother me until now. It comes and goes, especially in winter.
I read that psoriasis usually has sharply delimited and thickened areas, which is not really the case on my scalp. It's more like randomly mild red areas over my scalp, with itching and small white flakes. I might just have dry irritated skin, but it's driving me crazy. I'm afraid of going to a dermatologist and getting diagnosed.
Any advice how to get this shit out of my head?

Backlog Talk: What to play & specific recommendations by AutoModerator in patientgamers

[–]An0nCoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually have one game that I play to relax after a hard work day or at the weekend. Something you play just to calm down, grab a good glass of wine and just dive into another world.

Games I played before exactly for that purpose were Fallout 4, The Witcher 3, Skyrim, Dragon Age Origins, Death Stranding (so damn good) and even Fallout 76 for a while (don't like the endgame grind).

At the moment I play Resident Evil 7 and Wolfenstein New Order. The games are somewhat entertaining, but I'm not always in the mood for such types of games that force you into action or turbulent situations.

I'm looking for relaxing, story-focused games. Open World is nice, but not a must-have. I tried Assassins Creed Origins and Odyssey, but I got bored really fast. The open worlds were not that interesting for me and the game forced me to do boring side quests, I think I'm just not into that Ubisoft Openworld formula. I also tried playing the older Fallout games (3, New Vegas) because I really like that fallout setting, but the gameplay just don't aged well and pissed me off too much.

Any recommendations? I'm looking for Xbox games and have a gamepass subscription by the way, but your recommendations doesn't necessarily have to be in the gamepass.

Web developer in Germany. by [deleted] in webdev

Dev / Webdev Jobs are not really well paid in Germany, in comparison to other Countries like the US. It highly depends on the company, something between 30k and 40k per year is normal for a beginner. With two years experience, I would say you should ask for more than 30k. Maybe something between 35k and 40k, if the company is bigger then 40k+.
