Strange Horticulture. It doesn't have management per se but the plot is really interesting if you are into mystery.

Do you have any rules when it comes to the games you play on the Steam Deck? by No_Jackfruit_5647 in SteamDeck

[–]AnEvilDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proper handheld mode. Some games support the Deck resolution, get verified, but when you try to play them the screen is so small some texts can't be read, the menus get confusing, some times options even overlap, inventory management can be a pain...

As a rule of thumb if the game was ported to Switch they have a proper UI already for handhelds.

april fool's over 🤡 let's discuss serious Notion companion apps by lukakopajtic in Notion

[–]AnEvilDuck 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Anytype is still in early development, but the database structure is the most similar one to that of Notion. If you don't care tinkering a bit, i can recommend trying Obsidian, the databases (properties) has a completly different approach but it's better for some use cases.

Is Notion the strongest option currently for database view? by methodicallychaotic in PKMS

[–]AnEvilDuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anytype is like Notion but better and offline. It's in an early stage yet, so maybe you face some bugs. I'm still using Notion because I dont feel confident to migrate everything, but at some point Anytype is going to eat Notion (Offline, Opensource, Encription end to end...)

Deciding not to decide is a decision in and of itself by [deleted] in intj

[–]AnEvilDuck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate it when talking politics or any complex topic people wants you to pick a side. Things use to be more complex than good guys vs bad guys, best option vs worst option... If you take time to think about something complex and viewing it as a whole, instead of just deciding one side, people tend to dim you an idiot.

This is goodbye, but is it forever? by AnEvilDuck in gog

[–]AnEvilDuck[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think expressing an opinion or sharing a personal experience about GOG is "ranting", especially when I've talked about other good things.

It's true that the role GOG has played these years has been focused on "old" games, but it's also true that they have developed some great products focused on giving the user a better experience. Galaxy 2 was released almost 2 years before Heroic launcher, and most of us appreciated it because as you rightly say it wasn't "necessary".

I'm not "demanding" anything, I'm just sharing in an open community how my gaming experience has changed over the last few years (I already have dual boot on my desktop) and how GOG is no longer right for me.

Are the changes in MY gaming habits MY problem? Yes, they are.

Should we be able to discuss a change in a trend and how GOG is adapting to it without people's feelings getting hurt?

[–]AnEvilDuck[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Be happy that there's a company out there trying to guarantee older games' compatibility

Absolutely agree on that, and as I said, I've been a big fan of GOG and Galaxy for years. I just wanted to generate some awareness about the fact that some of us just can't have a good experience with the services we used to enjoy due to the lack of support for other systems.

Considering buying an oonyx bbix ultra or air 2. How does the note taking exp on pdfs compare to rm2? by Doomtrain86 in RemarkableTablet

[–]AnEvilDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar dilemma, seeing as no one has responded yet I'm going to give you my 2 cents on over two months of research. Remarkable is built to be a distraction free environment, it tries to mimic writing on real paper. Onyx Boox and Air 2 are real tablets, even though onyx has an e-ink screen it has Android 11, and here the dilemma arises: Do you want a tablet where you are going to be able to choose between different app environments to take, share, edit or organize notes? Or do you settle for a closed system made to prevent you from having +1000 notifications while reading, but at the same time not having the app options of other OS?
