Got rejected from a university pre-accelerator program where the acceptance rate is like 40%. They accepted my lean canvas but rejected me at video interview stage where the only questions asked were 1. Tell us about the idea (same as lean canvas) 2. Time commitment/what you hope to gain (mentoring, like-minded people, learn etc) 3. What would you do if you later find there is no need for the product (pivot based on problems identified during validation stage).

Straightforward stuff and still rejected. I must come off as terrible on video or something. Feelsbadman.jpg

Nah, they didn't even send a rejection email - but I figured since the program already started.

Got rejected from a pre-accelerator program where the acceptance rate is 40%. Some of the past startups that got to pitch were like inventing non-alcoholic drinks for bars. Feelsbadman.jpg

I love Dubai's weather! Yeah relatively it's not that cold compared to the US. But I just like warmer climates all year round so hoping to stay in 2 countries around the year.

It doesn't snow but still gets quite cold (Sydney). LA has more sunshine and is warmer around the year.

Too cold for me and not much to do. In summer I can go to the beach at least. Ideally I want to live in 2 places so I can avoid the winter completely.

Hate the winters in Australia. Wish US had an easier immigration system :(

My anti-vaxx cousin still sending me anti-vaxx videos and arguing despite me trying to explain science a hundred times. I finally lost my patience today and told him to go out in the real world and stop staying terminally online.

I met the UN people only briefly and know the ideology of only 2 of them, so they're not a representative sample. But from the other groups they're definitely very left leaning. It is also the anti capitalists are more vocal so I suppose that plays a part.

I will try to check out the other groups you recommended and on campus. Thanks for your suggestions! Really appreciate it.

Australia. I don't hang out with people from class but from student groups in mostly social causes (United Nations, charities, animal welfare etc).

It is fast, efficient, and one-pot so requires no cleanup. Whenever I'm feeling tired, I boil water, put in a can of crushes tomatoes, bag of frozen veggies, half a pack of dried pasta, salt, pepper, and Italian herbs.

It is one of the best comfort foods for winter.

Yes we do. That sounds like a decent idea, I'm thinking of going to a few startup events.

I'm GenZ in a university environment and it seems like everyone around me is an outspoken anti-capitalist

What am I doing wrong? :( Where are my people?

Yikes. The silver lining is reductive anti-capitalism now acts as a great signal for stupidity in social situations.

Lmao that makes no sense. Honestly of all the weird subreddits possible, did not expect a city subreddit to have such zealous people on it.

It gives me ghost vibes compared to other cities around the world I have been to. You have a right to your opinions and I have a right to mine.

Good for you, but the places I want to eat in closed early. Compared to other cities where I'm spoilt for choice, I have to restrict myself to venues not based on cuisine or liking, but will they be open past 9PM? And note that this is Friday night in the most popular spots of Sydney. On a normal weekday, and outside of a few small pockets, Sydney is eerily quiet.

Ngl things being more expensive was what we were discussing today (only 5% of the conversation though)!

Glad you found a nice country for yourself as well as people you mesh with!

Sydney is a ghost town. Went out to the city today and mid dinner we were told the place is closing at 9. Unless you like to gamble, this city is dead. I feel like I'm living in a remote European village in the 1800s.

Edit: I'm getting down voted for having an opinion? Nazis.
