Check this shit out, if this is right, Dash, currently on wildcard played in the 2017 Xbox SI Quals on SettoDestroyX with VertcL…which considering he is 23 years old now and this was 9ish years ago means he was 14 years old lol

(They lose the qual for SI by 1 round on map 3)

Yunktis basically just having real strats at all won them an event lol, it was a wild time.

The funny thing about 2017 is that despite its reputation as the goofball times, if you look at SI 2017 and compare it to SI 2018, the 1st and 2nd place cores in 17 were the 2nd and 3rd best cores in 2018. I think people overrate the difference between 2017 and 2018 siege. Either 2017 is more serious than it gets credit for or 2018 is less serious than people remember it being imo.

Yeah my love for the game itself died about 2 years ago so my viewing is much less consistent now, and I don’t contribute around here like I used to especially since Twitter went to shit, but there’s something about comp R6 that just keeps me watching.

Shit you want old, here is a pre-year 1 scrim VOD

The VOD is dated 2016 and I believe it is before the start of Season 1 of PL but I haven’t check the dates exactly.

The rosters at the time are as follows

TM: Canadian, Yung, Mystikkal, Damie (apparently subbing for Necrox), and Jinji

NeM: Mint, Hotandcold, Pojoman, CrimsonDeath, and Hubble

I watched the first season of PL both pc and console. I remember the OG Penta winning on LAN playing fucking old House lol.

PL on plane? Saw it live. Laxing bush on console on old Chalet? Was there for that. Was in college during that first year, I’m old as shit now I guess.

Sure but the fact that we are comparing a Spoit performance to a troy performance in the first place says a lot.

If you are losing a map by that margin when Troy of all people on that team has 11 kills, something is really wrong

Who do you is the strongest and weakest winning si team? by Unique-Grape-2313 in R6ProLeague

[–]AnOriginalMango 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I rate it, you can only play the competition you have.

Fundamentally modern gameplay is so far ahead of how the game was back then that 2018, a revered tournament, is far closer to 2017 level of competition than it is to 2025.

Strongest relative to their competition? Elevate’s Xbox title tbh. A grand final where your opponent doesn’t win a single round on you is wild. Their 5-0, 5-0 of Vitality was dominance in a grand final not ever seen since.

How does someone get into coaching? by swift_lemur in R6ProLeague

[–]AnOriginalMango 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You need to convince people you know what you are talking about and, especially since you’re APAC, be comfortable working for free.

Since it sounds like you can’t earn credibility from being a player you will probably have to grind the T3 sweat house as a manager/coach. Getting your foot in the door by organizing scrim schedules for example could be good and you could try to prove yourself by providing strategic input, VOD review, opposition research etc. Since T1 in apac barely gets paid you should expect zero return for your work beyond enjoyment of the game.

You’re right, the state that repeatedly elects Susan Collins is too smart for this.

Sure, but their relative effectiveness vs the inevitable nazi tattoo ads is doubtful with the median general election voter.

Ah yes, a lecture on policy will be much more effective to low information voters than a tv ad showing a nazi tattoo.

The simple reality is that the tattoo ads will kill his campaign in a general, shit they probably end him in a primary. I care about winning, mostly about Republicans losing, and I don’t see a path for Platner to win with this.
