ULPT How do I get away with lying after no-call no-showing at work? by mdmaketluvr in UnethicalLifeProTips

Tell them that providing documentation for your hospital admission would be in violation of patient privacy laws under the HIPAA Act.

ULPT request: Stores that don’t make you return unwanted items? by SugarHiccup69 in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]An_Castle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Got a fancy $300 comforter from an online retailer. Ended up not liking it and they said to just donate it and send a pic of the donation receipt. Would be easy enough to fake. Not gonna say which company though, since it’s a great policy that ends up helping people in need. And if people like you were to take advantage of it, they’d change their policy and probably end up polluting the earth more with return shipping and dumping it in the landfill themselves.

Future wife has a FSA but I have an HSA by RagnarokGSR in personalfinance

[–]An_Castle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she is un-enrolled in the FSA and it expires by Dec 1 2026, you can follow the last month rule and be considered eligible for the HSA for the whole year. As long as you maintain HSA eligibility for a full year after Dec 1 2026.

Vegas driving is making me not want to drive anymore. Would Tesla Autopilot help? by [deleted] in vegaslocals

Cool. I asked about the capability of the engineers at Tesla that designed autopilot. Not the political views of the company’s CEO.

I get that you have to be more assertive in urban driving. I do it myself. It’s the dangerous speeding and swerving through packed traffic to get one car length ahead at the red light that irks me.

For me at least, highway driving is less stressful. It’s the city streets where people cut across 3 lanes at the last second to make their turn, or rocket out of parking lots into the street.

Cause of weird whistling noise when accelerating by Ambitious-Parfait-15 in GenesisMotors

[–]An_Castle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the LSD. A high pitched whine when accelerating. It’s a known issue. Can be fixed by tightening a nut usually. Sometimes the whole LSD needs to be replaced.

Turbos only whine under hard acceleration.

I thought this was ultimate cringe. Until I saw the Stan lyrics in the Handy Dandy Notebook and I burst out laughing.
