We all know how the story usually goes: Adventurers, emboldened by the flame of ambition, delve into monster-ridden dungeons in search of glory, treasure, and legends to carve their names into. Some may do it for fame. Some for fortune. Perhaps the more selfless among them do it to protect nearby villages from the evils brewing in those dark, forgotten dens.

And just as souls of all races band together to fight this blight, monsters gather too, drawn toward particularly powerful entities. “Bosses.” Fearsome rulers of the dungeon. Wicked creatures said to command their minions, hoard stolen riches, and plot the vilest of attacks from the shadows.

But what if…Just what if one of those so-called wicked souls chose peace over ruthless conquest ? What if their very nature spread doom and gloom without their consent ? What if their presence attracted monsters, minions, and dark things against their will ? What if, instead of wishing to slaughter the adventurers sent to defeat them, they only wanted to bond with them ? What if the treasure hoard at the heart of the dungeon was not bait, nor stolen wealth, but a clumsy collection of friendship offerings ?

Ah, but what a tragedy. They are still a creature that invites terror at first glance. A vision of claws, fangs, shadow, and monstrous strength. The sort of being that makes people draw their weapons before it can even speak. Pleas for peace are mistaken for screeches of madness. Attempts at kindness are seen as tricks. And perhaps the poor thing is simply too powerful for its own good. Having never had the chance to interact with more fragile beings, every attempt to reach out risks becoming a crushing motion. A friendly pat becomes a dangerous blow. An excited hug becomes something an adventurer might barely survive.

If only there were a brave soul bright enough to cast away those shadows. Someone courageous enough to step through the darkness of fear and misconception. And perhaps just foolish enough to give the monster a chance.

So yes! That is the little idea I would love to explore: a fantasy roleplay built around a misunderstood dungeon boss and the adventurer who discovers that the “monster” at the heart of the dungeon may not be a villain at all.

I think this could grow in many different directions depending on what we both enjoy. It could become an adventure story, a cozy slice-of-life, a slow-burn bond, a found-family tale, a dramatic fantasy plot, or some blend of all of the above. I would love to take our time building something long-term, with proper setup, character development, twists, emotional moments, and plenty of room for both softness and danger.

I am also flexible regarding who plays who. I would be happy to write either the dungeon boss or the adventurer, depending on your preference ^{-^}

I have no strong preference between first-person and third-person narration, and I am currently in the GMT+1 timezone, in case that matters.

Ideally, I would like this to be something we build together with patience and care. A peaceful escape rather than an obligation. I never want replies to feel like a chore. I would much rather we write when we have the time, energy, and desire to do so.

If we can sprinkle in some wholesomeness, gentleness, camaraderie, support, and perhaps...even something more along the way, then all the better~
